This paper presents the hardware and control software architectures of an intelligent humanoid robot. The robot has a mobile base consists of three omnidirectional wheels that allows it to move freely with three degree-of-freedom (DOF), two 6-DOF arms and 3-DOF neck and head that allows it to perform most of the common movements of human.

Methods for two distant parties to exchange their secret messages using single photons are considered. There existed several such methods but they are either insecure or face with information leakage problem. In this paper a new method to overcome the above-said limitations is proposed. The proposed method is also efficient because it also uses single photons in two degrees of freedom.

In this paper, a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller cascaded with a second-order lead-lag filter is proposed for unstable second-order process with time delay. On the basis of the internal model control (IMC) principle for the two-degree-of-freedom (2DF) control system, the proposed method can achieve the enhanced performance for both disturbance rejection and set-point tracking problems.

The robustness of the controller is also investigated by inserting perturbation uncertainty in all process parameters simultaneously. The results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed IMC-PID controller in both nominal and robust cases.

(BQ) Ebook Engineering Mechanics (Volume 1: Statics): Part 2 presents the following content: The concepts and categories of distributed forces are introduced at the beginning of Chapter 5, with the balance of the chapter divided into two main sections. Chapter 6 on friction is divided into Section A on the phenomenon of dry friction and Section B on selected machine applications. Chapter 7 presents a consolidated introduction to virtual work with applications limited to single-degree-of-freedom systems.

This paper reports the application of consecutive-interpolation procedure into four-node quadrilateral elements for analysis of two-dimensional cracked solids made of functionally graded composite plate. Compared to standard finite element method, the recent developed consecutiveinterpolation has been shown to possess many desirable features, such as higher accuracy and smooth nodal gradients it still satisfies the Kronecker-delta property and keeps the total number of degrees of freedom unchanged.

In this paper the smoothed four-node element with in-plane rotations MISQ24 is combined with a C0 -type higher-order shear deformation theory (C0 -HSDT) to propose an improved linear quadrilateral plate element for static and free vibration analyses of laminated composite plates. This improvement results in two additional degrees of freedom at each node and require no shear correction factors while ensuring the high precision of numerical solutions.

This study presents a Fractional Order Proportional Integral Derivative Acceleration (FOPIDA) controller design methodology to improve set point and disturbance reject control performance. The proposed controller tuning method performs a multi-objective optimal fine-tuning strategy that implements a Consensus Oriented Random Search (CORS) algorithm to evaluate transient simulation results of a set point filter type Two Degree of Freedom (2DOF) FOPIDA control system.

This study developed a five-axis machine center that integrates two mechanical models: a three-degree-of-freedom parallel platform and traditional computer numerical control (CNC) X–Y table. In the design of the mechanism, the three actuator axes are parallel to each other, and the two platforms are installed in parallel. The positions of the moving platform are changed by extending and shortening the three axes.

This paper aims to generalize the design of continuous-time filters to the fractional domain with different orders and validates the theoretical results with two different CCII based filters. In particular, the proposed study introduces the generalized formulas for the previous fractional-order analysis of equal orders. The fractional-order filters enhance the design flexibility and prove that the integer-order performance is a very narrow subset from the fractional-order behavior due to the extra degrees of freedom.

In the present paper, the so called "harmonic and parametric case" [1, pp. 335-341] will be examined. Critical singnlar points [2] will be used to classify different forms of the resonance curve. The case in which the indirectly- excited parametric oscillation is not very intense will be analyzed in detail. As it will be shown, the resonance curve has either a loop or an oval.

In this dephase has been explained as that of such motion called characteristic and this explanation permits us to propose a lightly modification in Hans Kauderer's method. The same problem will be examined below for the equilibrium regime of an oscillating system of two degrees of freedom. It will be shown that the results obtained in can be applied without difficulty.

The system of mono-degree of freedom with some type of aerodynamic force and the analysis of solution for the case has been considered in [1, 2]. In [3] we have conducted a survey in the non-resisting equation system of two-degree of freedom with the aerodynamic force as in f5]. In this article, we will continue to study the abovementioned mathematical problem with the regard to the resisting element of environment make some suggestions for the solution and survey its stability.

The article deals with the form of equations of motion of mechanical system with constraints. For holonomic systems the number of differential equation is equal to the degrees of freedom, without regard to the number of chosen coordinates. The possibilities of computer processing (symbolical and numerical) are shown. Two simple examples demonstrate the described technique.

The paper presents the analysis of some two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear systems under random excitation using Local Mean Square Error Criterion which is an extension of Gaussian Equivalent Linearization. The results obtained shows that the new technique can be very efficiently used not only for simple-degree-of-freedom systems as presented in the previous papers, but also for multi-degree-of-freedom ones.

In this paper, the formulation of a new six-node solid–shell element denoted (SHB6) is proposed. This prismatic element is based on a purely three-dimensional approach, and hence has displacements as the only degrees of freedom. A reduced integration scheme is adopted consisting of one-point in-plane quadrature and an arbitrary number of integration points, with a minimum number of two, distributed along the ‘thickness’ direction.

This paper extends the dual equivalent linearization technique (ELT) to obtain flutter speeds of a two-dimensional airfoil with nonlinear stiffness and damping in pitch degree of freedom. Although the use of dual ELT has been investigated in some previous papers, this paper presents an extension of dual ELT using the global-local approach, in which the local equivalent linearization coefficients are averaged in the global sense.

For many years the higher order stochastic averaging method has been widely used for investigating nonlinear systems subject to white and coloured noises to predict approximately the response of the systems. In the paper the method is further developed for two-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to white noise excitation. Application to Duffing oscillator is considered.
