A study on the effect of different densities and feed when rearing phyllosoma larvae of slipper lobster (Thenus Orientalis) was conducted at Nha Trang Marine Research and Development Center, Institute of Aquaculture Research No. 3 from January to April 2020 to evaluate the effect of density and types of food on survival, growth (phase transition rate, phyllosoma larval size: CL and CW).

Crop rotation for disease control in shrimp culture is not yet widely recognized although it is already an established practice in Agriculture, Many researchers used this practice in various species like potato cyst-nematodes. The same practice was followed by researchers. Information about crop rotation in aquaculture is very less and it is yet to be explored. Enzymes are basically a type of protein in biological systems. They are generally used as catalysts in order to catalyse the rate of reaction. Feeding these enzymes in the aquaculture sector has some nutritional advances. Application of enzymes reducing the effects of antinutritional factors, improves the dietary energy resulting in better performance of fish/shrimps. Feed enzymes in the form of granules help enzymes to stay for longer time durations and are suitable for pelletisation process. Efficiency of feeds needs to be at maximum for economical operations.

Colour patterns are the most distinct phenotypic traits in the majority of the living organism including fishes and considered as one of the main influencing factors in consumers’ buying decisions. Color traits are regulated by mainly four types of pigments stored in chromatophores. Melanin, is one of the most important pigment of cells, responsible for the coloration. Tyrosinase is a characteristics enzyme in melanin biosynthesis. Modulation of tyrosinase is of significance in the ornamental fish industry, food fishes as well as in humans.

In aquaculture, antibiotics have been used mainly for therapeutic purposes and as prophylactic agents. The abuse of antibiotics in aquaculture farming is a big problem. To achieve high yields and profits, many farmers are now applying intensive farming methods. The improper use of antibiotics causes the phenomenon of drug-resistant bacteria and residue accumulation of antibiotics in aquatic meat. Another reason causing antibiotics-resistant bacteria is the use of antibiotics to small quantities of aquatic feed as a growth stimulant.

This research was implemented in the fish hatchery of the College of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Can Tho University from July 2007 to September 2007. Two indoor experiments were conducted for duration of 30 days. Whisker sheatfish fries were nursed in 35 L plastic tanks at a density of 2.5 fry/ L. Experiment 1 was designed to evaluate the effects of different live feed diets on acceptability, growth and survival rate of the fries. The experiment was randomly set up with 4 treatments, 3 replications each.
