Types of sentiment analysis

This survey presents a summary of the necessary stages for building a complete model to be used in sentiment analysis. For each stage, we list the popular techniques that have been widely used in recent years. In addition, discussions and comparisons related to these methods are provided. Additionally, we discuss the challenges and possible research directions for future research in this field.

In this paper, we define a new type of summary for sentiment analysis: a singlesentence summary that consists of a supporting sentence that conveys the overall sentiment of a review as well as a convincing reason for this sentiment. We present a system for extracting supporting sentences from online product reviews, based on a simple and unsupervised method. We design a novel comparative evaluation method for summarization, using a crowdsourcing service.

This paper examines two problems in document-level sentiment analysis: (1) determining whether a given document is a review or not, and (2) classifying the polarity of a review as positive or negative. We first demonstrate that review identification can be performed with high accuracy using only unigrams as features. We then examine the role of four types of simple linguistic knowledge sources in a polarity classification system.
