Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize ultrasonic-assisted extraction for total polyphenols from Artocarpus altilis based on single-factor experiment. The main factors, ultrasonic time, the liquid-solid ratio, the extraction temperature, the type of addition acid of single factor experiment was surveyed; the principle of design for 2 factors (extraction time and liquid-solid ratio) 2 levels response surface methodology was applied and the response surface optimization extraction conditions were studied.

In this paper, a non-destructive experimental method based on ultrasonic through-transmission technique has been developed to measure phase velocity and attenuation of both compressional and shear waves. Two pairs of transducers are used for the measurements, one with center frequency of 5 MHz, and the other pair with center frequency of 10 MHz. The method is tested on the homogeneous material Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA).

Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes were modified by nano-silicon dioxide (n-SiO2), and they were exposed to ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 35 kHz. The effect of sonication on their water sorption tendency and permeation capability was investigated. The characterization of the membranes was done by FTIR and SEM analysis, and the hydrophilic character of the membranes was deduced by swelling studies and contact angle (CAn) measurements.

In this study, we report a simple and economic one-pot synthesis of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanostructure and its modification with tetraethyl orthosilicate by coprecipitation method. The synthesized (Fe3O4@SiO2 ) nano sorbent was applied for enhanced adsorptive removal of methylene blue by ultrasonic wave driven batch experiments. After successful synthesis, the nanostructure was characterized for their physical structure by FT-IR, VSM, TEM, and XRD. For the maximum adsorptive performance of nano sorbent, various parameters were optimized, such as dose, pH, time, concentration, and temperature.

The combination of ultrasonic wave and H2O2 as a “green” AOP should be investigated as a post-treatment of the old landfill leachate for enhancement of biodegradation by using aerobic activated sludge. The microwaves fostered the chemical reactions via homogeneous and fast heating processes; the sonic radiations from an ultrasonicator created ultra-fast cooling rates at high power or just played a role of mechanical waves at low power; laser provided energy nanoparticles from bulk plates; elevated temperature and pressure produced good environments for unique reactions. All those preparation methods are simple and inexpensive but they could produce nanoparticles with interesting properties.

This technique relies on measuring amplitudes, making it highly susceptible to variations in transducer coupling and instrumentation. This paper proposes an experimental procedure for in-situ surface wave nonlinear ultrasound measurements on specimen with permanently mounted transducers under high cycle fatigue loading without interrupting the experiment. It allows continuous monitoring and minimizes variation due to transducer coupling.
