The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of national culture on the performance and sustainability of Vietnamese firms. The study employs data from the Vietnam Enterprises Survey (VES) conducted between 1992 and 2011 to interview about 6468 firms in total 63 provinces in Vietnam.

This article highlights a robust adaptive tracking control approach for a nonholonomic wheeled mobile robot by which the bad problems of both unknown slippage and uncertainties are dealt with. The radial basis function neural network in this proposed controller assists unknown smooth nonlinear dynamic functions to be approximated. Furthermore, a technical solution is also carried out to avoid actuator saturation. The validity and efficiency of this novel controller, finally, are illustrated via comparative simulation results.

Bronchogenic cysts belong in the category of foregut duplication cysts, along with esophageal and neuroenteric duplication cysts. They are often found incidentally on cross-sectional imaging. Although they are benign, patients often undergo surgical resection because of diagnostic uncertainties. We report the first case of bronchogenic cyst diagnosed with the microforceps, after previous nondiagnostic fine-needle aspirations, thus allowing the patient to avoid surgery.

The uncertainty and uneven distribution of rainfall and loss of water through runoff, which leads to low and unstable productivity of crops due to moisture stress in critical stages of crop growth. So it becomes essential to adopt in situ soil moisture conservation measures for sustainable crop production in rain fed agriculture. There are several soil and water conservation measures for reduction of runoff and soil loss such as contour farming, contour and graded bunding etc.

In light of increasing global financial market volatilities, firms are encountering a more uncertain cash flow than ever. To avoid missing investment opportunities, firms will hold cash as a precautionary measure. We investigate whether cash holdings in Taiwanese firms is indeed driven by the uncertainty of cash flow. Our empirical results confirm that uncertainty of cash flow is the most important factor that explains why firms hold cash.

The aim of this study is to examine how job satisfaction influences the relationship between company performance, knowledge sharing, and organizational culture, perceived through the prism of Hofstede’s cultural dimensions, controlled by company size and staff position. A survey of 910 Polish employees (mainly knowledge workers) with different roles and experiences across different industries was conducted. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.

Ryan (1988) performed an experiment with domestic chickens (Gallus domesticus) to establish the potential effects of ingested plastic particles on seabirds. They were fed with polyethylene pellets and the results indi- cated that ingested plastics reduce meal size by reducing the storage volume of the stomach and the feeding stimulus. He concluded that seabirds with large plastic loads have reduced food consumption, which limits their ability to lay down fat deposits, thus reducingfitness.
