  • The article presents the problem associated with the influence of seawaves on the working depth of a towed underwater vehicle (TUV) including: defining transfer function (TF) of the towing cable - underwater vehicle system; analyzing the sea-wave’s features, modeling and defining the TF of filter which forms the sea-waves; estimating the TFs of the system (TC - UV) and researching the influence of sea-waves to the TUV’s working depth in the time domain.

  • This paper presents an improved method based on the jacobian matrix and the error feedback. By using this method, the accuracy of the solution of inverse kinematics for the vehicle-manipulator system is improved. In addition, one of the advantages of a redundant system is exploited to avoid impact on joint limitations. Numerical simulations in software Matlab are carried out to verify the efficiencies of the proposed method.

  • Finally, real time simulations are presented to validate the interaction between the ROV operator and the VR model. To provide realistic operational conditions, the effects of sensor noise and water current disturbances are included to the simulation programme. The results show that the performance of the VR ROV is stable even with these disturbances.
