High-throughput molecular biology techniques yield vast amounts of data, often by detecting small portions of ribonucleotides corresponding to specific identifiers. Existing bioinformatic methodologies categorize and compare these elements using inferred descriptive annotation given this sequence information irrespective of the fact that it may not be representative of the identifier as a whole.

Prevalence of Theileria equi among horses based on parasitological and universal molecular technique
Equine theileriosis, being an OIE listed disease mainly requires frequent disease screening and monitoring. The aim of the present study was to monitor the prevalence of theileriosis in horses by using both parasitological method and molecular diagnostic technique based on Equine Merozoite Antigen-5 and 6. In the present study, samples from 248 horses were collected randomly.

XPO5 codes for the nuclear transport factor exportin-5, which is a membrane-bound protein. This gene is responsible for the transport of pre-miRNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasmic compartments, thereby adjusting the whole miRNA expression level. The reduction of the miRNA levels was recorded when XPO5 was knocked down. rs11077 is found in the 3′UTR region of XPO5, and this SNP might affect mRNA stability and be associated with the altered expression of XPO5. This leads to the universal suppression of miRNA expression profiles, thereby mediating the HCC survival.

Genetic improvement of fish species is considered a priority area for research and development by the government of Viet Nam, particularly in the context of rural development, food security and poverty alleviation. The current proposal has been developed in consultation with Vietnamese staff of participating institutions. The project builds upon the existing collaborative links between Deakin University and the Research Institutes of Aquaculture (RIAs) in Viet Nam.
