Upweling region

Upwelling is an oceanographic phenomenon that involves the physical process and contributes to changes in chemistry, biology, and natural resources. So, systematically, it is the particular ecosystems of whole marine regions with the upwelling. The strong upwelling waters in South Central Regions of Vietnam have uncertain features of the East Vietnam Sea (Bien Dong) and special characteristics of a coastal upwelling area, recorded in international scientific papers in the twentieth century.

Observations from satellites have shown a statistical relationship between the surface wind stress and underlying sea surface temperature (SST) on space and time scales, in many regions. Using satellite‐ derived data, the variability in wind and SST is examined for a particularly strong upwelling summer season off central Vietnam coast in 2002.

Zubkov et al. (2000) found that Prochlorococcus spp. were the dominant cyanobacteria in the northern and southern Atlantic gyres and the equatorial region, giving way to Synechococcus spp. in cooler waters. Synechococcus cells also become more numerous and even reach blooming densities near the tropical region affected by the Mauritanian upwelling. Finally, the concentrations of Picoeukaryotes tend to be at their height in temperate waters.
