Lack of evaluation, experience of transport planners, and inter-sectoral coordination were key challenges to successful interventions. The review highlighted a lack of older adult-specific transportation policies, and gender-targeted interventions for older women, suggesting a need for interventions and policies based on the contextual factors existing in a region.

Air-quality monitoring is highly desired in modern life, where environmental problems have become more serious. Such a task requires continuous surveillance over large urban areas, which is costly both in infrastructure and sensor resources. Hence it gives rise to Vehicular Mobile Networks (VMNs), in which mobile vehicles play the role of sensor devices and constantly monitor the area.

Today, the urban landscape of Hanoi is marked by a massive increase of private vehicles. Cars and motorcycles are filling the streets and make the traffic conditions difficult. In order to reduce congestion, the Vietnamese government plans a Public Transportation System (PTS), which is composed of metro lines and dedicated bus lanes. This paper concludes that technology, i.e. modern means of transport, will be useful if the integration of public transport system into the urban planning is guaranteed.

In their article on ‘sociotechnical matters’, Hess and Sovacool (2020) draw on extant STS scholarship to unpack ‘the black box’ of sociotechnical contributions to social science studies of energy. Notably absent in their synthesis is explicit attention to temporality and to the impact of temporal dimensions on the politics of material change. We argue that temporality is a key analytical entry point to unpack how energy infrastructure changes.

This study is to examine an impact of infrastructure investment on change of land values, particularly public road transportation in urban areas. Based on principles of the land rent theory, developed by Alonso (1964) and Muth (1969), this paper carried out a survey of land users who use plots of land or own residential property in several new urban areas in Hanoi -Vietnam, as a case study. Our findings reveal that Centre distance, Mobility timing and Development opportunity have positive impact on land values, while Land use changes and Accessible amenity have no influence.

In order to feed the country’s population in general and our state in particular, farming is a must and we shouldn’t leave any stone unturned to minimise the migrations from rural to urban and make agriculture so attractive for urbanites to move in the reverse direction.

Arsenic contamination in groundwater and its effect on human health has been a growing concern over recent decades. Some of the most severe incidents occurred in South and Southeast Asia, including the Red river delta, Vietnam. The highest concentration of arsenic found in the Red river delta was 810 µg/L, 16 times higher than the standard guidelines given by WHO for levels of arsenic concentration in groundwater (50 µg/L). However, the contamination levels were not uniform in the whole area.

Telemedicine is becoming an important aspect in developing countries to provide better health facilities. Rural areas in developing countries suffer due to lack of health facilities and face difficulties like time to reach health facilities at the faraway places, cost of reaching at a health care facility, and transportation needed to move around for the treatment/consulting purpose. Telemedicine could be used for safe and quality health by specialists at low cost in rural areas in Pakistan.

Despite the proliferation of Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) platforms, such as WhatsApp, studies that examine their role for learning and knowledge sharing are still rare. Using the context of global health, this study seeks to examine the ways in which MIM platforms are being used for learning and knowledge sharing and identify associated potentials and constraints. A survey with open- and closed-ended questions was administered and the experience of 40 respondents from 44 different project settings was gathered and analyzed.
