Research objectives: Identify the values of Da Lat's urban landscape architecture during the French colonial period; build a system of criteria to evaluate the value of landscape architecture, thereby evaluating the value of landscape architecture spaces in Da Lat during the French colonial period; propose solutions to promote the value of Da Lat landscape architecture during the French colonial period in the urban architectural space of Da Lat today.

This research focuses on two key research questions: how to measure spatial accessibility to green space in urban areas at fine resolution; and what is the status of spatial inequity in accessibility to green space in the MMA. Guided by the two research questions and based on a systematic review of literature on accessibility in general accessibility to green space in particular, a methodology has been developed for producing results needed to answer the research questions.

This study reconsiders current public lighting design and suggests alternative practices that were determined through a case study involving a main street shopping strip. Using design as an investigative method this thesis seeks to inform and inspire practitioners and decision makers by illustrating the possibilities of change. Australian cities are witnessing an unprecedented growth in urban density and if we do not change our thinking, the quality of our urban spaces will not match this growth.

In the last 10 years interest and activity in urban sonic design has expanded. The way we listen to, think about and understand sound determines the way we value, manage and design with it. However practitioners in the area would benefit from detailed forms of site documentation and analysis that go beyond physical sound measurement. This Masters explores the use of the Sonic Identity Model developed by Pascal Amphoux of CRESSON (the Centre for Research on Sonic Space and Urban Environment) in the early stages of urban sonic design.
