The work proposes a synthesis method of capacitive fractional-order impedance element which is composed of homogenous distributed resistive-capacitive (RC) structures (lines). The method employs genetic algorithm and searches for optimal connection schemes and parameters of the partial RC structures. The synthesis algorithm is described in detail including the coding of the properties of the structures for the purpose of the genetic algorithm. The user interface of the design tool is introduced and the input and output parameters of the synthesis are explained.

Computer programs may be categorized along functional lines. The main functional categories are system software and application software. System software includes the operating system which couples computer hardware with application software.[12] The purpose of the operating system is to provide an environment in which application software executes in a convenient and efficient manner.[12] In addition to the operating system, system software includes utility programs that help manage and tune the computer. If a computer program is not system software then it is application software.

This chapter will explore the application of CSS for styling text. It will cover a lot of CSS basics, as well as answer some of the more frequently asked questions about these techniques. If you’re new to CSS, these examples will introduce a variety of properties and their usages, and provide a solid foundation from which to start your own experiments. For those already familiar with CSS, this chapter will serve as a quick refresher for those moments when you’re struggling to remember how to achieve a certain effect....

Technology stakeholders and critics were asked in an online survey to assess scenarios about the future social, political, and economic impact of the Internet and they said the following: • The mobile device will be the primary connection tool to the Internet for most people in the world in 2020. • The transparency of people and organizations will increase, but that will not necessarily yield more personal integrity. social tolerance, or forgiveness. • Talk and touch user-interfaces with the Internet will be more prevalent and accepted by 2020.

In 2013, managing the security of devices, small business systems, and large enterprise networks will be more complex than ever before. Users are breaking down the PC monoculture by embracing a wider variety of platforms, each with its own user interface, OS, and security model. Businesses, meanwhile, are grappling with protecting intellectual property and business information as they tackle consumerization, virtualization, and cloud platforms head-on.

Since then Dr. Hans Berger discovered the electrical properties of the brain, it was considered ability to communicate outside personswith device only through the use of the brain wave (Vidal, 1973). Brain computer interface technology is aimed at communicating with users outside computer equipment through electroencephalographic signals as the command source (Wolpaw, JR, et al, 2000), (Birbaumer, N, et al, 2000).

Solving PDEs generally means you must take the time to set up the underlying equations, material properties, and boundary conditions for a given problem. COMSOL Multiphysics, however, relieves you of much of this work. The package provides a number of application modes that consist of predefined templates and user interfaces already set up with equations and variables for specific areas of physics. Special properties allow the selection of, for instance, analysis type and model formulations.

CHAPTER 7 ■ ENHANCING THE USER INTERFACE WITH JQUERY You may have noticed that the modal window appears to flicker right as it’s opened. This happens because fx.initModal() appends the modal window to the body element without hiding it. To correct this, add a call to .hide() in fx.initModal() using the following bold code: // Functions to manipulate the modal window fx = { // Checks for a modal window and returns it, or // else creates a new one and returns that "initModal" : function() { // If no elements are matched, the length // property will be 0 if...

Introduction Nowadays, the communication possibilities between automation systems are a core demand and necessity, even in the case of systems of the lower performance class. Due to the large variety of communication processors, protocols and user interfaces in the SIMATIC homogenous system world (i.e. only SIMATIC systems communicate with each other) and particularly in the heterogeneous system world (i.e. SIMATIC systems communicate with “third party” automation systems) this topic is extremely complex.
