UV transmittance

In this study, cotton spunlace nonwoven fabrics with four different basis weights were coated with graphene oxide (GO) by conventional dip coating method which is one of the most simple and effortless process in textile industry. The graphene oxide coated cotton nonwoven fabrics were immersed in an aqueous sodium dithionite solution in order to obtain reduced graphene oxide (RGO) coated cotton spunlace nonwoven fabrics.

Four metallo (zinc, copper, vanadyl, and indium) phthalocyanine derivatives bearing four aliphatic (hexylthio) groups were prepared from corresponding phthalonitrile compounds. The metallophthalocyanines were characterized with ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and mass and elemental analyses techniques. Aggregation properties of metallophthalocyanines in solution were studied in varied concentration ranges. Thin films of metallophthalocyanines were obtained by spin coating technique.

A phthalocyanine (Pc) initiator, tetrakis(2-bromopropyloxyester)ethylthiophthalocyaninatozinc(II) (ZnPcBr), was prepared and successfully applied to atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) for the first time. Bromine end groups of the synthesized Pc took part in the initiation of the MMA chain growth. Polymerization was demonstrated by monomodal molecular weight distribution of the synthesized polymers and their increasing molecular weight behavior with reaction time.

This system has been set up and it generates selected wavelenghts at 282.9 nm and 286.4 nm with the energy of 30 µJ/pulse and 60 µJ/pulse respectively. A DIAL system using this UV transmitter is designed to measure the vertical distribution of ozone with high temporal and spatial resolution. Our simulations of received DIAL signal indicate that the altitude of ozone distribution measurement can reach to over 5000 m along with range resolution of 100 m.
