The research "Detection of land surface temperature change in coal mining area using remote sensing and GIS techniques - A case study in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam" explores Land Surface Temperature (LST), which represents the energy exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere, as well as with the biosphere. Variations in surface temperature can lead to the formation of heat islands characterized by higher temperatures compared to surrounding areas.

This specification covers the procedure for longitudinal Charpy V-notch testing of structural steel and contains two frequencies of testing. The impact properties of steel can vary within the same heat and piece, be it as rolled, control rolled, or heat treated. The purchaser should, therefore, be aware that testing of one plate, bar, or shape does not provide assurance all plates, bars, or shapes of the same heat as processed will be identical in toughness with the product tested. Normalizing or quenching and tempering the product will reduce the degree of variation.

Previous studies in the Norwegian pig breeds Landrace and Duroc have revealed a QTL for levels of skatole located in the region 74.7–80.5 Mb on SSC7. Skatole is one of the main components causing boar taint, which gives an undesirable smell and taste to the pig meat when heated.

This study aims to use CFD analysis of CT scan data from the nasal cavities of a range of older Asian males to investigate the impact of geometric variations between older nasal cavities on the airflow structures and airconditioning capacity of the nasal cavity. Air flow mechanisms, heat transfer rates and humidification efficacy are analysed in order to arrive at a more precise understanding of the role of nasal geometry in the presentation of respiratory ailments.

Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp) is an important legume crop due to its high protein content, adaptation to heat and drought and capacity to fix nitrogen. Europe has a deficit of cowpea production. Knowledge of genetic diversity among cowpea landraces is important for the preservation of local varieties and is the basis to obtain improved varieties. The aims of this study were to explore diversity and the genetic structure of a set of Iberian Peninsula cowpea accessions in comparison to a worldwide collection and to infer possible dispersion routes of cultivated cowpea.

Climate change models predict more frequent incidents of heat stress worldwide. This trend will contribute to food insecurity, particularly for some of the most vulnerable regions, by limiting the productivity of crops. Despite its great importance, there is a limited understanding of the underlying mechanisms of variation in heat tolerance within plant species.

Identification of genetic diversity in heat tolerance and associated traits is of great importance for improving heat tolerance in cool-season grass species. The objectives of this study were to determine genetic variations in heat tolerance associated with phenotypic and physiological traits and to identify molecular markers associated with heat tolerance in a diverse collection of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.).

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal lung disease of unknown etiology. Genetic variation within different major histocompatibility complex (MHC) loci contributes to the susceptibility to IPF. The effect of 70 kDa heat shock proteins (HSP70) gene polymorphisms in the susceptibility to IPF is unknown.

Weather and climate greatly influence the agricultural productivity in any region. Agricultural production and productivity of any region is regulated by the prevailing climate of that area through temperature, rainfall, light intensity, radiation, sunshine duration etc. The present experiment was carried to understand the influence of different growing environments and genotypes on heat unit requirement, heat use efficiency (HUE) and radiation use efficiency (RUE) in rice at the Instructional cum research Farm, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) during Kharif-2013.

KGdF4 polycrystalline doped with the different concentration of Sm3+ ions were synthesized by hydrothermal technique. Thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves of samples were measured in the range from 50 oC to 400 oC after irradiating beta, neutron and X-ray radiations. The response of TL intensity to impurity concentration and neutron dose were studied in detail. The TL kinetic parameters such as activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s) were estimated by using the method of heating rate variation.

The present study was conducted to determine genotypic variations for normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and canopy temperature (CT) in wheat under terminal heat and combined heat and drought stresses. Forty-four wheat genotypes were evaluated under late sown with irrigation (heat stress) and without irrigation (combined heat and drought stress) in an environment with average temperatures of 28.6°C during the growing season and 30.62°C during the grain filling stage.

The present paper intended to reveal the stresses and temperature distribution in a thin hollow cylinder. The author has investigated the transient thermoelastic problem for evaluation of temperature distribution, displacement and thermal stresses of a thin hollow cylinder. The known boundary conditions are utilized for this purpose. The integral transform technique delivers the solution to the problem. The outcome of this analysis contains an infinite series. The variation of said parameters observed by using necessary graphs.
