Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a polymicrobial, most common cause of abnormal vaginal discharge among young women of Reproductive age groups. This cross sectional study were to analyze the prevalence of vaginal infections in the patients attending Obstetrics and Gynaecology with various complaints like increased malodorous vaginal discharge among sexually active women aged 15-45yrs.

The aim of the study is find the prevalence of pathogenic microbes in HVS and to detect the carrier stage in patients attending Obstetrics and Gynaecology department with various complaints. Clinical syndromes of GBS disease in newborns include sepsis, meningitis, pneumonia, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, and septic arthritis.

Antibody detection by non treponemal/ cardiolipin and treponemal tests are the mainstay for diagnosing syphilis and for monitoring the success of subsequent antibiotic treatment (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010; Müller et al., 2014). So the main aim of the present study was to understand the occurrence of syphilis among various patient groups attending a tertiary care hospital.

Vaginitis in women can be caused by aerobic bacteria, Trichomonas vaginalis, yeast or it can be bacterial vaginosis which can lead to various gynaecological and obstetrical complications. This is a retrospective study aimed at determining the prevalence of vaginitis due to various microorganisms. A total of 500 women in the reproductive age group attending the tertiary care hospital over the last 2 years were included in the study. The vaginal swabs of these patients were subjected to Gram‟s staining & wet mount to identify T.vaginalis, budding yeast and clue cells.
