Congenital anomalies of the aortic arch are important as they may be associated with vascular ring anomalies. The most common vascular ring anomaly in dogs is a persistent right aortic arch. However, published data of the distribution of the diferent types of vascular ring anomalies and other aortic arch anomalies are lacking.

The purpose of this study was to assess the safety and efcacy of percutaneous transcatheter embolization (TCE) for the treatment of pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs). Methods: Forty-three consecutive patients (n=17 males; n=26 females) with 72 untreated PAVMs underwent coil and/or plug embolization between January 2010 and February 2018. The mean patient age was 42±14 years (range 19–71 years).

The understanding of vascular anatomy of kidneys has gained remarkable significance in both medical and surgical disciplines. The science of renal transplantation intensifies a need for recognizing the variation in renal vascular anatomy in different population and ethnicities. CT angiography is a less invasive modality for assessing the renal vascular anatomy of potential kidney donors as not every healthy person wishing to donate kidney is a suitable candidate for this highly specialized procedure.

In a clinical practice of the angiography, the blood vessel analysis is substantially important mainly in a sense of an objectification and modeling of the pathological spots such as the blood vessel calcifications. An amount of the calcification is commonly just estimated by naked eyes; therefore, the automatic modeling may be beneficial in a context of an extraction of the blood vessel features well representing a level of the blood vessel deterioration.

Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging has become the leading cross-sectional imaging method in clinical practice. Since the 1980s, continuous improvements in hardware and software have significantly broadened the scope of applications. At present, MR imaging is not only the most important technique in neuroradiology and musculoskeletal radiology, but has also become an invaluable diagnostic tool for abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, breast and vascular imaging.

Since its introduction in the early 1970s, computed tomography (CT) has become a robust modality to evaluate extracranial, thoracic, and abdominal vascular distributions. It has become a gold standard to non-invasively image the aorta, pulmonary arteries, great vessels, renal and peripheral arteries. However, cardiac anatomy evaluation with this modality was not possible, due to rapid cardiac motion and slow image acquisition times.

The art of imaging blood vessels in the human body is called angiography. Since its inception, physicians have benefited from the field of angiography imaging. This has helped them to diagnostically treat patients with various kinds of vascular diseases. Recently, because of the technology growth in fields of acquisition techniques, such as magnetic resonance, computer tomography, digital subtraction angiography, and ultrasound, the vascular imaging research community has become very interested. But acquisition is just one side of the coin.

The successful introduction of extracellular gadolinium-based contrast agents for contrastenhanced MR angiography, and their wide acceptance today, raise the question of what part an intravascular contrast agent might play in diagnostic imaging. The answer lies in the capacity of an intravascular agent to give us high-level diagnostic information from first pass arterial imaging and, at the same time, to yield additional diagnostic value by allowing delayed imaging from the same contrast injection.
