The participants included a hematologist and vascular physiologist, neuroradiologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons from a number of countries including Canada, France, the People's Republic of China, the former Soviet Union, and the United States of America. They represented that small group of individuals who are actively pursuing the problems of aneurysmal and vascular malformation evolution and rupture with the intention of managing these lesions endovascularly.

Brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare congenital developmental vascular lesions, and often presents with symptoms upon rupture. The controversy exists as to whether pregnancy confers an increased risk of intracranial hemorrhage. The diagnosis of brain AVMs, in the absence of brain imaging, is challenging in resource-limited settings, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.

Neuromuscular and vascular hamartoma (NMVH) is a benign and rare lesion comprising abnormal proliferation of cellular elements in the mucosa of the small intestine. NMVH shares certain histological features with inflammatory conditions like Crohn’s disease, radiation and ischemic enteritis, and has been a part of ongoing debate since it was first described in 1982.

Takayasu arteritis (TAK) is a rare vasculitis that often affects young women of childbearing age, and its management during pregnancy poses unique challenges. Limited data exist regarding the safety and efficacy of tocilizumab (TCZ), an interleukin-6 receptor antagonist, in the treatment of TAK during pregnancy.

Chronic brain pathology and pre-stroke cognitive impairment (PCI) is predictive of post-stroke dementia. The aim of the current study was to measure pre-stroke neurodegenerative and vascular disease burden found on brain MRI and to assess the association between pre-stroke imaging pathology and PCI, whilst also looking for potential sex differences.

Well-differentiated liposarcoma (WDL)/atypical lipomatous tumor (ALT) is considered a low-grade malignancy that rarely metastasizes but should be carefully followed because recurrence or dedifferentiation may occur. It is recognized that WDL and ALT are essentially synonymous, describing lesions that are identical both morphologically and karyotypically, and that site-specific variations in behavior relate only to surgical resectability.

Although there are many studies discussing the etiological and pathological factors leading to both, acute and chronic tendon injuries, the pathophysiology of tendon injuries is still not clearly understood. Although most lesions are uncomplicated, treatment is long and unsatisfactory due to the poor vascularity of tendon tissue.

Fowlpox virus (FWPV) and Pigeonpox virus (PGPV) isolates from domesticated fowls and pigeons from Jammu region were inoculated on chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) of chicken embryonated eggs (CEE) through three passage levels to observe their cytopathic effects (CPE) and underlying pathology. Development of PGPV induced lesions was earlier than FWPV, and more severe. PGPV progressed from small white opaque lesions from first passage; to CAM thickening, haemorrhages and very prominent and extensive pock lesions at second; and by third passage, focal areas of necrosis was evident.
