A field experiment was conducted on clay soils of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur during kharif 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 to find out the the residual effect of recycling of cotton crop residues on succeeding cotton and impact of recycling of crop residues on yield, yield attributes, soil organic Caron, N, P2O5, K2O and soil microbes invertisols.

A pot culture experiment was conducted in Agricultural College, Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh to study the “comparative efficiency of different organic acids spraying in groundnut on available nutrient status of calcareous soils" during kharif season of 2015-16. The experimental soil was Calcareous (collected from Vertisol profile), low in available nitrogen, medium in available phosphorus and high in available potassium.

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.), locally known as Bhendi or ladies finger, is one of the most important vegetable crop grown in AP in all the seasons. Presently okra is grown in an area of twenty three thousand hectares and production is estimated at about 4.39 metric tonnes. The major problem in okra is yellow vein mosaic virus. The main area is occupied by hybrids from private sector. Different cultivars require different climatic condition and the performance of these entries depend on their adoptability to a particular climate and soil conditions.

Yard long bean (Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis (l.) Verdcourt) is one of the important legume vegetable crop. The present investigation was conducted with an objective to identify the best accessions suitable for Vertisols in Andhra Pradesh. The trial was conducted with six genotypes in RBD with four replications during 2016-18. The data was collected on growth parameters, yield attributes and yield. Among the entries evaluated, VL Lobia-1 recorded significantly maximum plant height, pod length and average pod weight.

A field experiment was undertaken at Regional Agriculture Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh during 2017-18 on vertisols under rainfed condition to find out the suitable method of planting to avoid water logging for higher cured leaf yield in bidi tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.). The treatments consisted of two planting methods (Ridge method and flat bed method) as one factor and four planting geometry (60 cm x 50 cm, 60 cm x 75 cm, 75 cm x 50 cm and 75 cm x 75 cm) as another factor in factorial randomized block design and replicated thrice.
