The present investigation was aimed at determining the effects of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM) on vegetative growth of chrysanthemum var. Marigold plants grown under salinity condition. Entrophospora sp. (VAM) inoculated plants of forty-five days old seedlings (DAS) were transplanted into pots (one seedling per pot) until the flowering. After (75 days) transplanting, seedlings of chrysanthemum var

These symbiotic microorganisms have extensive mycelial network and can increase the transport of other mineral elements such as zinc and copper. VAM fungi can play an important role in enhancing P availability to plants in deficient soils and can save P-fertilizer by 25-30% (Somani et al., 1990).

This paper reviews the research efforts aimed at improving a sustainable and healthy agricultural production through the appropriate management of soil microorganisms. It deals with the potential microorganisms that can be used as biofertilizers viz. Rhizobia, Azotobacters and Azospirillum, Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB), Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM) and Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) along with their functions and inoculation techniques; beneficial microbes, mechanism of action and their significance in securing the future of sustainable farming.

An investigation was carried out to study the effect of organic manures and bio-inoculants (Azatobacter, Azospirillum, PSB and VAM) on growth, yield and quality of ashwagandha by comparing with RDF at K.R.C.C.H. College of Arabhavi. The results showed that growth parameters viz., plant height (74.20 cm), stem diameter (0.85 cm), plant spread (NS (37.60 cm) and E-W (38.07 cm)) and number of primary branches (8.80) recorded maximum with the application of RDF + VAM and yield parameters viz., number of berries per plant (219.33), seed yield (3.15 q/ha), fresh root (19.

A field experiment was carried out to find out the response of onion to individual and combined inoculation of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza (VAM) and phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) under different levels of phosphorus (P) at FOA Wadura Sopore, Kashmir. The results revealed that, combined inoculation of onion with VAM and PSB significantly increased all the examined parameters during the study as compared to control as well as to their individual inoculations even when the P inoculation was reduced to 75 and 50 % of the recommended dose.

Vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae (VAM) are obligate mutualistic symbionts in plant roots cortex and help the absorption of nutrients needed for plants to growth. The research was aimed calculate the spores of VAM and identification to the genus of level. This research has been carried out laboratory analysis in February 2015 to June 2015. The research was conducted by field survey. The purposive sampling area was an oil palm plantation field difference in plant ages.

Phosphorus and zinc are two essential nutrients which are required for normal plant growth. These nutrients are mutually antagonistic in certain circumstances which can cause yield reductions in many crops due to either P or Zn deficiencies. Deficiencies typically happen when a nutrient is available in small amounts. In this phenomenon, the nutrient is present in marginal to normal levels but the antagonizing nutrient is available in such a large amount that it induces the deficiency of the other.
