Vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides L.) is a perennial grass, native to India and now cultivated in many parts of the tropics. In this study, we examined the antiinflammatory activity of the ethanol extract from Vetiver roots through the albumin protein denaturation model.

In this study, laboratory wastewater containing organic matters, heavy metals and aromatic compounds, was treated by vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides) as a phytoremediation. Sewage effluent as a source of nutrient supply for plant growth was first fed to two wetland systems: Mini horizontal subsurface flow (HSSF) and floating raft (FR) wetlands.

Phytoremediation is an altemative technology to remove heavy metals in contaminated soil. Vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides (Linn.) Nash) was used for Cadmium (Cd) and Lead (Pb) · removal experiments in 4 various soil types: {SI) sandy soil with abundant organic matter; (82) sandy soil with poor organic matter; (83) clay soil with abundant organic matter; (84) clay soil with poor organic matter. Plants were grown for 30 days before transferring to experimental pots.
