  • NW Iran-SE Turkey is a tectonically active zone related to the Arabia-Eurasia convergence, but the active stress state in this zone has not yet been clearly studied. To improve the knowledge of present-day stress state in this region, optimum reduced stress tensor was analysed. For this, a large number of earthquake focal mechanisms (277) were collected. The analyses show most mechanisms exhibit strike-slip to thrust faulting. These data indicate that this region is dominated by an N158° maximum horizontal compressive stress (SHmax) belonging to a transpressional tectonic regime.

  • This paper examines impacts of macroeconomic news on Vietnamese state-owned enterprises’ (SOEs) performance. Macroeconomic news variables are based on changes in GDP, interest rate, and inflation, respectively. We consider Vietnamese non-financial listed firms, and panel data regression is proposed. Our results show that interest rate is found to be significantly negative associated with firm performance but changes in GDP and firm performance are positively related.

Contrary to most of the existing literature, especially large state-dominated firms were documented to be significantly more financially constrained.

  • In the present paper, the stability of inverter-based microgrids is considered. A decentralized state-feedback control approach for inverter-based microgrids with a linear matrix inequality (LMI) stability condition is proposed. Controller gains for inverters are designed by solving the LMI optimization problem. The resulting controller stabilizes the system, guaranteeing zero steady-state frequency deviations.

  • My interest in work-related ill-health had more contemporary origins. I have had an academic and personal interest in women’s health in general for many years and in the early 1980s I became a member of a small women’s group who were concerned about the hazards women faced in their work. The necessity for a separate organization of women for women was the oft-repeated situation that many feminist groups have encountered in other areas of social and political life; the ‘work hazards movement’ was male dominated and it was difficult for women within it to get women’s concerns on the agenda...
