To compare some of clinical features, laboratory finding and treament of severe pneumonia caused by bacteria, virus and bacteria-virus coinfections based on PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) results NTA (Naso tracheal aspiration), and rapid test to finding RSV, AdV results in children from 2 months to 24 months hospitalized at the Respiratory Department of Children’s Hospital 1.

Opportunistic viral infections such as Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Hepatitis B (HBV) and C (HCV) are often prevalent in HIV patients undergoing antiretroviral therapy (ART) thereby shortening the life span of infected patients. The co-infection of CMV, HBV and HCV among HIV positive patients attending ART clinics across hospitals in Ekiti State, Nigeria, were studied.

African swine fever virus (ASFV), classical swine fever virus (CSFV) and atypical porcine pestivirus (APPV) have caused great economic losses to the swine industry in China. Since coinfections of ASFV, CSFV and APPV occur in certain pig herds, it is necessary to accurately and differentially detect these pathogens in field-collected samples.

This case-control study was conducted on 67 patients with PCa and 40 control subjects. The expression levels of cellular and viral factors involved in inflammation, tumor progression, and metastasis were quantified, using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRTPCR) assay.

Infection with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) causes an immunosuppressive disease whose consequences are less severe if cats are co-infected with an attenuated FIV strain (PLV). We use virus diversity measurements, which reflect replication ability and the virus response to various conditions, to test whether diversity of virulent FIV in lymphoid tissues is altered in the presence of PLV.

Acute viral hepatitis (AVH) is a major public health problem and is an important cause of morbidity and mortality. The aim of the present study is to find seroprevalance and coinfection rate of hepatotropic viruses in suspected cases of acute viral hepatitis at a tertiary care hospital of western India. Samples of Acute viral Hepatitis cases were tested for hepatitis B surface antigen, anti-HAV IgM and anti-HEV IgM by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015 at a tertiary care hospital in western India.

Respiratory viral infections are a leading cause of mortality worldwide. As many as 40% of patients hospitalized with influenza-like illness are reported to be infected with more than one type of virus. However, it is not clear whether these infections are more severe than single viral infections.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection associated with cervical cancer that frequently occurs as a coinfection of types and subtypes. Highly similar sublineages that show over 100-fold differences in cancer risk are not distinguishable in coinfections with current typing methods.

Lower respiratory tract infections are one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide. Several viruses can cause bronchiolitis. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), parainfluenza viruses (PIV), influenza type A, adenovirus and human metapneumovirus (HMPV) are some of the common viruses found in hospital studies. This study aimed to study the molecular diagnosis of HPMV infections by using a realtime, reverse-transcriptase PCR assay and the evaluation of its prevalence among Egyptian infants clinically diagnosed with acute viral bronchiolitis.

Seroprevalence of hepatitis B, hepatitis C and syphilis in antenatal women in Rajkot, Gujarat, India
The epidemiology of viral hepatitis and syphilis in antenatal patient is of paramount importance for health planner and program managers. This study was conducted to assess to know the seroprevalnce of Hepatitis B Hepatitis C and syphilis in antenatal patient and to re-evaluate the need for routine antenatal care screening. All samples were tested to detect HbsAg by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), anti HCV antibody by ELISA and antibodies to Treponema palladium by qualitative Rapid Plasma Regain (RPR). Total 1000 samples were tested.

Dengue is the most common mosquito-borne viral infection in tropical and sub-tropical countries. Dengue virus, a single stranded positive sense RNA virus belongs to the genus Flavivirus in the family Flaviviridae. Both Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are the main vectors for dengue virus in India. Dengue illnesses are caused by one or more of the serologically related viruses namely DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4 and the newly identified DENV-5.India has faced a dramatically expanded dengue virus transmission over the last few decades, with rapidly changing epidemiology.
