  • The electrochemical behavior of valproic acid (VAL) was investigated using square wave voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, and sampled direct current polarography and a new square wave voltammetric method was developed for determination of VAL in pharmaceutical preparations. Recovery studies for the accuracy of the method were performed by adding known amounts of VAL and it was found to be 109.67 ± 4.85%. The proposed method was successfully applied to pharmaceutical products on the market.

  • Electrochemical properties of disulfiram, representative of highly significant bioactive compounds, were studied with a cyclic renewable silver amalgam film electrode (Hg(Ag)FE) using square wave cathodic stripping voltammetry (SWCSV). The influence of various factors such as pH, buffer concentration, buffer composition, and SWCSV parameters on current response was investigated. The applicability of the developed method was tested in the determination of disulfiram in the commercial formulation Anticol.

  • The present paper describes the voltammetric analysis of dipyridamole (DIP) at a cheap, disposable pencil graphite electrode (PGE). The working conditions were optimized with regard to the electrode material and the supporting electrolyte. Cyclic voltammetric investigations emphasized that DIP is irreversibly oxidized at the PGE. The electrode process is pH-dependent and controlled by both diffusion and adsorption. For DIP quantitative determination a differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) method in phosphate buffer solution pH 7.00 was developed.

  • In the present work TiO2 nanotubes (TNT) have been synthesized by alkaline hydrothermal transformation. Then they have been doped with Gd element. Characterizations of doped and undoped TNT have been done with TEM and SEM. The chemical composition was analyzed by EDX, Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. The crystal structure was characterized by XRD.   • The current study describes the synthesis, electrochemical, computational, and photochemical properties of octa (3-hydroxypropylthio) substituted cobalt (II) (4), copper (II) (5), nickel (II) (6) and zinc(II) (7) phthalocyanine derivatives. These novel compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, 1H, 13C NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and MS. The redox behaviors of these metallophthalocyanines were investigated by the cyclic voltammetric method.
