The yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is one of the major pests in all rice-growing regions of India. An experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Derol, Dist. Panchmahal, Gujarat, India during kharif(rainy) season in 2011 and 2012 to know the effect of soil and foliar application of silicon on the incidence of yellow stem borer, S. incertulas in rice.

Field trials were conducted during the kharif season of 2016 and 2017 in the farmers’ field of Kalain and Borkhola development block of Cachar district of Assam for evaluation of efficacy of insecticides and biopesticides against rice stem borer and leaf folder in the field of High Yielding Variety (HYV) rice, Ranjit. The experiment comprised of 4 treatments including the farmers practice (FP). The study revealed that, lowest mean percentage of infestation of rice stem borer and leaf folder i.e. 3.52 and 2.58 per cent was recorded after 90 days of application with 85.27 and 89.

The eight varieties of sapota were screened for their susceptibility against infestation of sapota insect pest complex, an experiment was conducted under field condition at the RTTC Farm (Research Training and Testing Center) of Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh during the year 2017. Among the eight varieties PKM-1 found least susceptible against infestation of chiku moth, bud borer and midrib folder while Cricket ball found least susceptible against infestation of leaf miner.

In order to understand seasonal incidence, crop loss estimation and management of yellow stem borer Scirpophaga incertulas (walker) on paddy, studies were conducted during 2015 at ZAHRS, College of Agriculture, Shivamogga. The highest incidence of dead heart and white ear was noticed during third week of April and third week of May.

The present investigation was conducted on submergence rice variety Swarna sub-1 to study the effect of environmental factors on the incidence of yellow stem borer, Scirpophaga incertulas (Walker) during Kharif season of 2016 and 2017 at Agricultural Research Farm, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The infestation of yellow stem borer was noticed in the field from 2nd week of July to 4th week of October during both Kharif season of 2016 and 2017.

An extensive survey for the diversity of mymarid fauna, internal solitary egg parasitoid was conducted in different agroecosystems of Tamil Nadu, during August 2018 – April, 2019. A total number of 1901 mymarid specimens were collected by using yellow pan traps in different cropping ecosystems viz., mango, sapota, grapes, brinjal, red gram, cotton, coffee, medicinal plants, and marigold. The mymarids were identified upto generic level.
