As a result, feasible and suitable alternatives that identify specific and locally relevant prospects for waste reduction, reuse, and recycling can emerge, constituting a significant stride towards environmentally sustainable and health-conscious educational institutions.

Model for energy and exergy analysis of absorption refrigeration using waste heat from textile factory has been built. The analysis that uses different models of heat exchangers are the overall heat conductance (UA) model, and the effectiveness model. The result show that the exergy loss in the generator and absorber are the larger than condenser and evaporator.

In this study, experimental results on mesoporous zeolite preparation from a common solid waste, the rice husk ash by a top-down and bottom-up approach were reported. In top-down method, the consecutive treatments of zeolite by acid and alkaline in the presence of a cationic surfactant (CTAB) successfully generated mesopores in the zeolite.

In this study, we investigate using acrylic and acrylic-styrene emulsions as curing solution to enhance water resistance and prevent cracking in cement concrete surfaces. Our main objective is to investigate the possibilities of utilizing washing waste generated during the Rhomn & Haas factory - Dow Chemical Vietnam production process. This waste is currently being treated as solid even though it contains anywhere from 10 – 45 % solid content.

This research explores whether Environmental Management Accounting can be applied to assist an Australian cogeneration company in improving both its financial performance as well as its environmental performance. Cogeneration or ‘combined heat and power’, in this particular case, involves the simultaneous production of heat and electricity using a single fuel, that is, natural gas. The heat generated is then used to produce steam to meet the customers’ requirements as well as boost the production of electricity.

Results of elemental composition analysis shown that the contents of C, H, N, Cl, S are ranged from 35,00 to 51,96, from 6,01 to 6,23, from 0,41 to 0,88, from 0,44 to 0,56, from 0,14 to 0,84 %, respectively. A pilot study was conducted to assess the feasibility of composting of source separated organic matter of municipal solid waste (MSW) generated in low, middle and high income areas of Karachi city with a population over 14 million. Results of MSW analysis indicate the presence of high percentage of biodegradable organic matter (71-74%), acceptable moisture content (40-50%) and C/N ratio (38-40:1). On windrow composting, not only the volume of waste was reduced but also produced a crumbly earthy smelling soil-like, compost material.
