  • This study presents some research results on the relationship between the geological environment of the surface layer and the level of modern tectonic activity in the sea waters of the Hoi An - Cua Dai area based on the interpretation of high-resolution shallow seismic data combined with the surface sediments’ grainsize analysis and other available data sources. The results show that the surface geological environment in the coastal waters North of the Thu Bon river fault is influenced by modern tectonic activities, believed to be a part of causing geological catastrophic events.

  • Biodegradable “green” and safe substitutes to minimize environmental and health risks are drawing extensive attention for research interest. This research aims to create a water-soluble cationic starch-grafted biodegradable polymer that can be used as a flocculant. As polymers are strong molecules that carry charges, they are effective flocculants. Saturated polymer chains do not change the pH value on adding to wastewater.

  • In this study, a simple technique combining conventional electrospinning and facile gas–solid reaction for fabricating PAN/Ag2S nanofibers was presented and tested. The obtained fibers would have excellent properties such as the flexibility of PAN nanofibers and efficient photocatalysis of the Ag2S nanoshells under visible light. The photocatalytic elimination of RhB in water was used to evaluate the activity and application of the synthesized material under visible light irradiation.
