Public parks in cities, with most of their area being green areas, play an important role not only in balancing the living environment, but also in contributing to the minimisation of flood risks through absorption and the storing of water. This creates the motivation to restore, maintain and develop green areas in inner cities, especially in centralised areas, which have a high level of urbanisation potentially associated with a shortage of such green-lands.

This study presents some research results on the relationship between the geological environment of the surface layer and the level of modern tectonic activity in the sea waters of the Hoi An - Cua Dai area based on the interpretation of high-resolution shallow seismic data combined with the surface sediments’ grainsize analysis and other available data sources. The results show that the surface geological environment in the coastal waters North of the Thu Bon river fault is influenced by modern tectonic activities, believed to be a part of causing geological catastrophic events.

This paper presents the results and assessment of the groundwater exploitation reserves in coastal areas of Ninh Thuan province. The research was based on determining the exploitation reserves of all grid cells with dimensions 500 m × 500 m distributed in fresh-salted water areas of the Holocene (qh) and Pleistocene (qp) aquifers. Each grid was assigned the corrected hydrogeological parameter values (depth, gravity coefficient, hydraulic conductivity, and drawdown level).

The Cuu Long delta is affected strongly by mass water from rivers of the MeKong river system such as Tieu, Dai, Ham Luong, Co Chien, Cung Hau, Dinh An and Tranh De (Hau river). In study "Impact of urbanization on seawater quality in Quang Ninh province" the authors use indicators to assess the level of water pollution, such as chemical and microbial pollution and measure the impact of urban factors, such as population growth, wastewater discharge and water consumption. In the survey results of seawater quality in two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season, there is a difference in some specific hydrological indicators, such as Coliform exceeding the allowable threshold in the dry season and iron and ammonium content tending to increase.

This research aims to assess the stability of the Bung Xang Lake embankment in the context of changing water levels due to change climate, specifically recent high tides. In this research, data from two cross-sections were collected and analyzed using Plaxis 2D V22 software. The simulation results indicate that the piles with a length of 11.30 meters, as per the design, still fall within the deformation range of the subsoil, especially at the surveyed location with weak and thick geological conditions (MC2-2), which limits the effectiveness of the piles.
