  • The discussions revolve around the economic, social and environmental dimensions of this subject. Of particular interest is water, perhaps one of the most critical resources for human survival. Herein we used exploratory research, with a qualitative nature, to develop a conceptual model that adopts a prescriptive approach to identify ways of assessing, integrating and complementing concepts related to the sustainable management of watersheds.

  • Dong Nai Province has abundant surface and groundwater resources. However, in recent years, due to the impact of climate change, there have been unusual changes, hot weather has occurred in the rainy season, rainfall has been distributed. Climate change strongly affects water resources in all aspects: flooding, changing water levels, saline intrusion ... Changes in water resources will affect related areas: changes in exploitation, using and managing, adjusting and changing policies and laws related to water resources.

  • Irrigation Scheduling is a prime requirement for optimizing the use of water resources in irrigated agriculture. The majority of irrigation projects in India perform at a low overall efficiency of 30% (Sarma and Rao, 1997), which provides an opportunity for meeting the increasing water demands by adopting efficient methods of water management. The National Commission on Integrated Water Resources Development (NCIWRD, 1999) has projected that India’s surface irrigation systems will work at only 40, 50 and 60% efficiency levels in 2010, 2025 and 2050, respectively.

  • There has been a growing gap between the demand for maize and its supply. One of the reasons often attributed to decline in maize productivity is poor production practices, awareness and characterized by low use of modern inputs. In order to avoid the lack of all the above to assess the current levels of technical efficiency of maize cultivation like spacing of Maize cultivation with effective management of irrigation practices could be taken as a study.

  • Increasing carbon dioxide (CO2) content in the atmosphere is the prime cause of global warming. Capturing this CO2 by agro-forestry systems through photosynthetic activity could be one of the ways to reduce its concentration in the atmosphere. Therefore, an attempt was undertaken to fix the atmospheric CO2 employing the mulberry plant as the sink considering its carbon sequestration potential.

  • The current water shortage in Egypt is 13.5 Billion cubic meter per year (BCM/yr) and is expected to continuously increase. Currently, this water shortage is compensated by drainage reuse which consequently deteriorates the water quality. Therefore, this research was commenced with the objective of assessing different scenarios for 2025 using the Water Evaluation and Planning (WEAP) model and by implementing different water sufficiency measures. Field data were assembled and analyzed, and different planning alternatives were proposed and tested in order to design three future scenarios.

  • Posts study analysis of the current state of the water supply system including water supply, treatment plant and pipeline system helps identify existing problems in the system. Through mixed methods, hazards or hazardous events are identified as a basis for risk assessment by using semi – quantitative method to assess raw risk and residual risk for each hazard. Priority risks are identified to focus on proposing the possible solutions that will improve the performance and management of domestic water supply systems.

  • There are 4 million miles of roads in the United States. One hundred years ago, roads were primarily unpaved and had half the number of miles of the present U.S. road system. As the system grew, roads became wider and more complex structurally to provide for more and heavier traffic. New construction technology and greater structural stability were needed to improve the road system. All phases of road development—from construction and use by vehicles to maintenance—affect physical and chemical soil conditions, water flow, and air and water quality.

They do research to understand the mechanisms and assess the impact of global change on the water cycle, water quality and availability, as well as soil functions and quality to provide the bases for management tools for sustainable water systems. Biodiversity and ecosystems are analysed to understand and minimise the negative impacts of human activities.
