Water vapor diffusion
-
In this work, the auto-correlation function of center of mass velocity has been used to deduce the mass diffusion coefficient (D) of water diluted in nitrogen using the Classical Molecular Dynamics Simulations (CMDS). The calculations have been performed at room temperature (296 K) for different mixtures of H2O in N2 and for 2.107 molecules from a five-sites potential.

Corrosion can be controlled by isolation of the metal from the corrosive environment. Isolation of corrodible metals from corrosive environments is probably the most general method of the corrosion protection afforded by paint films, sealers and lining on base materials. Fluoropolymers provide superior chemical resistance and are used in a variety of markets.

In this investigation, the effect of steaming on the water vapor diffusion coefficient of poplar wood (Populus nigra L.) was studied. The diffusion coefficients were then measured based on Fick’s law of diffusion in steadystate conditions using the cup method.

Hydrogels composed of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), polyethylenglycol (PEG) and kappacarrageenan (KC) were prepared by radiation crosslinking method. The equilibrium water absorption of hydrogel PVP/KC (A) and PVP/PEG/KC (B) were 45 and 85 g(H2O)/g dried gel, respectively. The n values of the equation Mt /M = ktn were determined to be of 0.6396 for hiđrogel A and 0.9984 for hydrogel B. The water transport mechanism follows the fickian diffusion for hydrogel A, while relaxation diffusion is dominated for hydrogel B. The water vaporization of hiđrogels was also investigated.

In most HVAC systems, the final energy transport medium is moist air—a mixture of dry air and water vapor. This is conveyed through filters, heat exchange equipment, ducts, and various terminal devices to the space to be air-conditioned. The power to move the air is supplied by fans. This chapter discusses fans and duct systems, together with related subjects such as grilles, registers, diffusers, dampers, filters, and noise control.
