Therefore, it is necessary, to find out the alternative methods for reducing the weed load during early growth period of soybean to get economical yields. Thus, herbicidal weed control remains only the choice under such situation to minimize the weed menace economically. Therefore, keeping the above facts in view, the present experiment has been carried outto find out effective weed control method.

Weeding is one of the major control operations in the vegetable crops. The traditional method of weed control is to remove the weed manually by a Khurpi or Spade. This is a very time consuming process. Due to shortage of agricultural labour in peak season, farmers cannot compete weeding in time. Mechanical weeding keeps the soil surface loose, which results in better aeration and moisture conservation. In our country the average land is about 0.

The study highlights species E. citriodora found to be more promising for weed control and subsequently selected using different concentrations for the second experiment. Bioassay of E. citriodora oil at 5 ppm concentration was found to be more effective for weed suppression than aqueous extract concentrations. The study suggests an eco-friendly method to suppress the weed population and effective management in weed control.

Weeding is an important but equally labour intensive agricultural operation. Delay and negligence in weeding operation affect the crop yield and in many cases cause complete crop failure. Mechanical weed control not only uproots the weeds between the crop rows but also keeps the soil surface loose, ensuring better soil aeration and water intake capacity.

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2014-15 at College Farm, N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari with fifteen treatment combinations. Treatments were replicated thrice as per randomized block design with factorial concept. Significantly higher values of plant height (171.63 cm), number of branches plant-1 (18.07), dry matter accumulation (80.07 g plant-1 ), number of siliqua plant-1 (204.

Field investigation on evaluation of pre and post emergent herbicides on yield parameters and yield of aerobic rice was conducted during kharif 2014 at agricultural college Farm, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The experiment consisted of combination of pre and post emergence herbicides alone, in combination with hand weeding and hand weedings at 20, 40 & 60 DAS and un-weeded check.

Presence of diverse weed flora during critical period of crop-weed competition, is one of the major obstacles in conservation agriculture that reduces which can reduce the crop yield appreciably significantly. During critical period of crop-weed competition, chemical method of weed control is by far the most preferred way to minimize the weed infestation of weeds, farmers are mostly relying on chemical methods of weed management.

India is facing various challenges in agriculture sector for sustaining soil fertility and food grains production, besides environmental degradation and food security of the country in the event of ever increasing demands of food grains production with limited cultivable land. Cultivable land and maintaining its soil fertility are one of the major tasks which supports about 17.6% of its population and leads to fact that, our natural resources are under considerable strain. Food grains are a major source of energy and are thus are vital for food and nutritional security.

Rice is an important food crop extensively grown in India. Several factors are responsible for reducing the rice productivity in worldwide. However, weed infestation is the major biotic threat to productivity of transplanted rice. Weeds are competed with rice by their high adaptability and faster growth, dominate the crop habitat and reduce the yield potential of rice. Weed management is an important agro-technique for successful transplanted rice cultivation. It can be achieved, either manual or mechanical or chemical weed control methods.

Fomesafen is widely used as herbicide for weed control. Fomesafen have both foliar and soil activity. It mostly control broadleaves. Fomesafen is labeled for postemergence applications to soybeans, peanuts, and rice. Although bronzing or burning of soybean leaf tissue is evident after application, yield is rarely affected. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of repeated exposure of Fomesafen (Herbicide) by oral gavage method on the blood biochemistry of female wistar rats.

A field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of seeding methods and weed management practices on yield of aerobic rice and nutrient removal by the weeds under direct seeded aerobic rice. Among the seeding methods line sowing increased the grain yield than the broadcasting method. Among weed management all the weed management practices were found to be equally effective in reducing the uptake of nutrient by weeds and producing higher grain yield as compare to weedy check. However maximum yield was obtained with the application of Pretilachlor 0.

Weeds are the part and partial of crop production since evolution of agriculture. Because of their superiority, efficiently harness favourable microclimate at the cost of crop. They mainly compete for mineral nutrients, soil moisture, space and light interception. In berseem field we can successfully achieve weed control below economic threshold level by adapting both precautionary and curative measures in an integrated manner.

Rice production has an important role in Indian economy and transplanting being most common practice adopted in the country. Transplanted rice encounters diverse type of weed flora consisting of grasses, sedges and broad-leafed weeds as well as sedges. Effective control of these weeds at initial stages can ensure in increasing the productivity of this crop. Weed control in transplanted rice by mechanical and cultural methods is quiet expensive. At peak period of crop weed competition due to labour crises weeding gets delayed.
