Increasing public concern about the potential damage of chemical inputs in agricultural production systems has challenged industry to develop new and effective pest management and control strategies against insect pests, diseases and weeds. These new strategies must be less harmful to the environment than the current, chemical-based ones, and they must also safeguard the health of agricultural workers and consumers.

Presence of diverse weed flora during critical period of crop-weed competition, is one of the major obstacles in conservation agriculture that reduces which can reduce the crop yield appreciably significantly. During critical period of crop-weed competition, chemical method of weed control is by far the most preferred way to minimize the weed infestation of weeds, farmers are mostly relying on chemical methods of weed management.

Widespread resistance in Phalaris minor is a major challenge for sustainable productivity. Recent increases in the development of herbicide resistance in Phalaris minor worldwide demand a high up strategies to control this weed. Herbicide-resistant weeds are a constraint to weed management. The use of potential management strategies is crucial in assuring sustainable production. A pot-culture experiment was conducted during the winter season of 2017-18 with the objective to evaluate the herbicidal efficacy for management of isoproturon-resistant Phalaris minor.

For yield and quality enhancement production techniques play a critical role. Among the various crop management strategies, weed management is an important practice which significantly contributes to yield and quality improvement of onion. The present study was conducted to compare the efficacy of various herbicides treatments on yield and quality attributing traits of onion. Five herbicides such as pendimethalin, oxyflurofen, alachlor, butachlor and quizalofop ethyl were used alone or in different combinations.

A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Agricultural Research Station, Banswara (Rajasthan) to evaluate the effective weed management strategy for enhancing productivity and profitability of chickpea. The experiment consisted of eleven treatments of PE (pendimethalin 30EC, pendimethalin 38.7CS, sulfentrazone 39.6 SC, imazethapyr 2%) and POE (fenoxaprop ethyl 9.3 EC) herbicides with weed free and weedy check was laid out in random block design with three replications.

Rice farming is generally practiced in warm/cool humid subtropics where lack of control over the water by both flooding and drought problems and serious weed infestation thus crop badly suffer. Worldwide, weeds are one of the major biological threats to higher rice productivity and its management in rice is challenging, complex, expensive, and regulated mechanism. Therefore, to control the diverse weed infestation in rice fields, planed weed management strategies have to addressed.

A field experiment was conducted during the winter season of 2016-17 and 2017-18 at Agricultural Research Station (MPUAT), Banswara (Rajasthan), India to find out effective weed management strategy for enhancing the economical return of winter maize under humid condition of Southern Rajasthan. Ten treatment combinations of pre-emergence (atrazine), post-emergence (halosulfuron, 2, 4-D, tembotrione and topramezone) herbicides with weed free and weedy check laid out in randomized block design with three replications. Results revealed that pre-emergence application of atrazine 50 WP @ 0.

Invasive species (weeds) contribute to great losses in crop productivity, and one of the strategies for controlling their distribution in the field involves the use of herbicides. However, the development of new formulations for the control of weeds is challenged by environmental issues, increases in the resistance of weeds to herbicides, and poor selectivity of herbicides towards invasive species.
