The results revealed that ME treatment decreased body weight and fat mass including visceral adipose tissue, epididymal white adipose tissue, subcutaneous adipose tissue. The results suggest that ME is effective in reducing weight and adipose tissue mass in HFD-fed mice.

The technological conditions of obtaining the polylactic acid-Vietnamese cassava starch blend on the mix-brabender were investigated. The optimal conditions were: temperature 160o C, reaction time 6 minutes, screw speed 45 r/min., initial material ratio in weight percentage PLA80- PEG10-TB20. Polyethyleneglycol (PEG) as a plasticizer, PN-47 as a distribution agent was used. It showed that the optimal starch content was 20 wt%. Increase in starch content lead to increase in water absorbability and weight loss of the materials.

This paper will show the results of the first experiments to get nano-clay clay composite materials based on modified polystyrene resin by melt - mix method. The intercalated nanocomposite structures are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) techniques. Polystyrene nano-composites with 2% nanoclay by weight exhibit an increases about 10% in impact resistance and they also lower the water absortion (nearly 60% compared with polystyrene resin) without any significant loss of tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural modulus.

Fever is the most common presenting sign of liver abscess. Some patients, particularly those with associated disease of the biliary tract, have symptoms and signs localized to the right upper quadrant, including pain, guarding, punch tenderness, and even rebound tenderness. Nonspecific symptoms, such as chills, anorexia, weight loss, nausea, and vomiting, may also develop. Only 50% of patients with liver abscesses, however, have hepatomegaly, right-upper-quadrant tenderness, or jaundice; thus, half of patients have no symptoms or signs to direct attention to the liver.

Clinical Presentation Symptoms The clinical onset of the chronic phase is generally insidious. Accordingly, some patients are diagnosed while still asymptomatic, during health-screening tests; other patients present with fatigue, malaise, and weight loss or have symptoms resulting from splenic enlargement, such as early satiety and left upper quadrant pain or mass. Less common are features related to granulocyte or platelet dysfunction, such as infections, thrombosis, or bleeding.

Clinical Presentation Symptoms Patients with AML most often present with nonspecific symptoms that begin gradually or abruptly and are the consequence of anemia, leukocytosis, leukopenia or leukocyte dysfunction, or thrombocytopenia. Nearly half have had symptoms for ≤3 months before the leukemia was diagnosed. Half mention fatigue as the first symptom, but most complain of fatigue or weakness at the time of diagnosis. Anorexia and weight loss are common. Fever with or without an identifiable infection is the initial symptom in ~10% of patients.

For types 2A, 2B, and 2M, vWF activity is decreased, measured as ristocetin cofactor or collagen binding activity. In type 2A vWD, the impaired function is due either to increased susceptibility to cleavage by ADAMTS13, resulting in loss of intermediate- and high-molecular weight (M.W.) multimers, or to decreased secretion of these multimers by the cell.
