  • In the present study, a considerable build up in soil organic carbon under tree canopy as compared to open canopy was found and soil organic carbon under tree canopy decreased with an increase in soil depth and increasing canopy distance. The total nitrogen percentage in soil decreased with an increase in depth and canopy. In case of available soil phosphorus, it decreased under the tree canopy with increasing soil depth and canopy distance.

  • An experiment was conducted at the farmer field village- Majitha, District- Jabalpur during the rabi season of 2016-17 and 2017-18. A field experiment was conducted during winter season to find out the biomass production and carbon storage by weeds, wheat crop and tree under eucalyptus based agroforestry system in randomized block design with three replications. The result revealed that the weed management practices increase the crop biomass production and reduce the weeds biomass. The biomass production was higher in agroforestry system than crop alone or tree alone.
