In the present study, a considerable build up in soil organic carbon under tree canopy as compared to open canopy was found and soil organic carbon under tree canopy decreased with an increase in soil depth and increasing canopy distance. The total nitrogen percentage in soil decreased with an increase in depth and canopy. In case of available soil phosphorus, it decreased under the tree canopy with increasing soil depth and canopy distance.

A field experiment was conducted during winter season to find out the effect of herbicides on weed dynamics and yield performance of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety LOK-1 in randomized complete block design with three replications under eucalyptus based agroforestry system. An experiment was conducted at the farmer field village- Majitha, District- Jabalpur during the rabi season of 2016-17 and 2017-18.

An experiment was conducted at the farmer field village- Majitha, District- Jabalpur during the rabi season of 2016-17 and 2017-18. A field experiment was conducted during winter season to find out the biomass production and carbon storage by weeds, wheat crop and tree under eucalyptus based agroforestry system in randomized block design with three replications. The result revealed that the weed management practices increase the crop biomass production and reduce the weeds biomass. The biomass production was higher in agroforestry system than crop alone or tree alone.

Global climate change is a change in long term weather pattern that characterised by the region of the world. Human activities, especially the burning of the coal and oil, have warmed the earth by increasing the concentration of the heat trapping gases. The impact of warming can be observed in changing weather patterns. Climate change is already affecting human health, ecosystem. Agroforestry has been recognized as a means to reduce CO2 emissions as well as enhancing carbon sinks.

Present study was undertaken to assess the microbial count in soil under different land use systems in a Mollisol at Norman E. Borlaug Crop Research Centre, G.B. Pant University, Pantnagar. The land use systems were rice–wheat–green gram, rice–pea (vegetable)-maize, rice-potato –okra, rice–berseem + oat + mustard (fodder)-maize + cowpea (fodder), maize–wheat–cowpea, sorghum (fodder)-yellow sarson-black gram, guava + lemon, poplar + turmeric, eucalyptus + turmeric and fallow (uncultivated land).
