The results of studies on the resistance control to Septoria tritici with alloplasmic lines of bread winter wheat with 14 cytoplasms. The effect of the Triticum aestivum L nuclear genome on its interactions with the cytoplasms of related species on wheat resistance was found out. Analyzing the obtained resistance evaluation results of the genotypes involved in the pathogen Septoria tritici experiment showed the absence of immune forms under the conditions of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine.

Drought is a major threat to wheat production worldwide and development of drought-tolerant wheat genotypes may improve the production of this cereal crop in drought affected regions. In the present study, 24 mutant lines were developed by treating a wheat variety ‘NN-Gandum-1(NN-1) with ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS). The M5 , M6 , and M7 generations were evaluated for quantitative traits under well irrigated and rainfed conditions. Furthermore, best performing mutants of M6 and M7 generations were examined for biochemical parameters.

High temperature is a major environmental stress factor limiting wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) productivity. Improvement of heat tolerance in wheat is an important breeding objective. The present investigation was carried out to evaluate and identify terminal heat tolerant bread wheat genotypes on the basis heat susceptibility index.

AMMI analysis observed highly significant values of environments, GxE interaction effects and genotypes effects for both the years of study. Lower values of EV1 during (2016-17) ranked genotypes as (G6, G2, G8); D1 for (G6, G2, G8); values of ASTAB1 for (G6, G2, G8) while SIPC1 for (G7, G1, G5) genotypes. EV2 measure pointed towards (G6, G2, G9) as desirable, D2 for (G6, G2, G8), whereas as per SIPC2 were (G5, G7, G8) & ASTAB2 opted for (G6, G2, G9). ASV and ASV1 recommended (G6, G2, G9) genotypes possessing stable performance as measures used 56.9% of GxE interaction.

A study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of increasing osmotic stress on various germination traits along with the capability of hydropriming and hormonal priming to counteract it. Seeds of five wheat genotypes were tested at four different stress levels viz., 0 bar, -3 bar, -9 bar and -15 bar created using PEG-6000, either seed primed with water (hydropriming) or with GA3 (Gibberellic acid) @ 50 ppm in a completely randomized design with three replications.

The crop damage caused by cereal leaf beetles of the genus Oulema melanopus L (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) has been increased in recent decades. The purpose of these studies was to evaluate the antixenosis resistance to cereal leaf beetle in Indian wheat varieties/genotypes/advanced breeding lines of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) created in India. The investigations were conducted under field conditions on natural infestation of existing population of cereal leaf beetle on wheat plants.
