  • This study was conducted to build an early forecast model for the dengue epidemic using an artificial neural network (ANN) in Vung Tau City in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. Weather factors (temperature, precipitation, humidity, wind speed) were all correlated with the number of dengue cases (p

  • In this paper, our goals are using some feature selection methods to find the best approach as well as to select the meteorological parameters that have great influence on wind speed, thereby helping to improve our predictive model.

  • The climatic parameters such as Rainfall, mean daily temperature, Wind Speed, relative humidity are spatial and changing with time space and position. That directly affects the availability of basic resources such as surface runoff, vegetation, soil health and quality needed for betterment of sustainability of human being. The predicting the surface runoff is complex and uncertain. It depended of these climatic parameters. Hence, their behaviour needed to be understood before putting in the hydrologic model.

  • The reference evapotranspiration (ET0) of Morena station was estimated using multiple linear regression (MLR), The climatological data such as maximum temperatures, minimum temperature, mean relative humidity, wind speed and solar radiation were collected for the morena station and district of Madhya Pradesh state of India for the period of thirty years and the missing value of that data series was also determine using SPSS-21 software. The observed reference evapotranspiration (ET0) values were estimated using the Penman monteith (FAO56-PM) equation.

  • Soil temperature plays a key role in crop water requirement and crop yield. The accurate field estimation of soil temperature is difficult and expensive. Therefore the present study focuses on the estimation of soil temperature in Mohanpur using Artificial Neural Network with input weather data such as maximum temperature, minimum temperature, wind speed, sunshine hours and the results shows that a good correlation exists between the maximum and minimum temperature with the soil temperature.

  • This study investigated the uncertainty assessing wind-power production in valleys of complex terrain using Juneau, Alaska as the testbed. The wind-speed data stem from evaluated WRF/Chem simulations for seven tourist seasons (May 15 to September 15). The percentage of wind speeds between cut-in and cutout speed differed up to about 11% among tourist seasons and up to 15% among the examined wind-turbine types. The wind -speed probability density varied the strongest among tourist seasons for wind speeds less than 3 m∙s−1 (6 m∙s−1) for wind turbines with hub heights of about 80m (30m).

  • Development of techniques for accurate assessment of wind power potential at a site is very important for the planning and establishment of a wind energy system. The most important defining character of the wind and the problems related with it lie in its unpredictable variation.

  • This paper proposes a procedural pipeline for wind forecasting based on clustering and regression. First, the data are clustered into groups sharing similar dynamic properties. Then, data in the same cluster are used to train the neural network that predicts wind speed. For clustering, a hidden Markov model (HMM) and the modified Bayesian information criteria (BIC) are incorporated in a new method of clustering time series data.

  • The wind itself owns variations and indeterminists governed by global circulations, regional climates, and local topographies and so on. Customarily, extreme wind speeds are preferably defined in term of probability which is interested for engineering today. Thus, the well wind records, identified wind mechanisms, and suitable methods of extreme value analysis and so on, are always required to predict reliable design wind speeds that would be used for structural design. For the past three decades, there have been many valuable studies in developing basic design wind speed map. ...
