Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide, both for incidence and mortality. Prevention relies on screening with a Pap test to detect precancerous lesions, which can then be treated. Access to this screening is currently both improvable and inequitable.

Women participation and status in the economy play an important role in achieving economic growth and sustainable development of a country. This article presents an inquiry into the theoretical basis of such preposition, and analyses the practical situation of women in the economy of Vietnam within three perspectives, namely: i) female labour-participation; ii) women entrepreneurship; and iii) female-owned enterprises, especially in comparison with reputable international rankings.

Design and pilot test a new decision making tool for women with physical disabilities (impairment of physical function due to chronic conditions) considering pregnancy. Clinical guidelines and survey and focus group data about pregnancy informational and decisional needs guided content development. The thesis investigates the nature of this developmental process by employing a constructivistinterpretive research methodology and using qualitative research methods. Poverty and inequality are among the most discussed topics in Economics. This thesis aims to investigate the empirical relationship between financial inclusion, poverty and gender inequality. Using unique cross-country panel and survey data sets, three hypotheses are tested: (1) microfinance is an effective tool for poverty reduction; (2) women’s participation in microfinance contributes to improvements in gender equality; and (3) financial inclusion has a positive effect on household income in China.

To determine the relationship between clusters of back pain and joint pain and prescription opioid dispensing. Of 11,221 middle-aged participants from the Australian Longitudinal Study of Women’s Health, clusters of back pain and joint pain from 2001 to 2013 were identifed using group-based trajectory modelling. Prescription opioid dispensing from 2003 to 2015 was identifed by linking the cohort to Pharmaceutical Beneft Scheme dispensing data. Multinomial logistic regression was used to examine the association between back pain and joint pain clusters and dispensing of prescription opioids.
