Working with the IRS

  • The proportional relationship between the infrared (IR) transmittance of a transparent material and its IR-induced heat transfer can be explained via a simple model. An agreement between the theory and the experimental work was examined by measuring the temperature rising inside a heat-insulated box with glass windows under IR irradiation, where the material of the glass windows was modified from corning glass (CG) to 9 at% Nb-doped TiO2 (TNO) fabricated by sputtering deposition.

  • In the present work, a modified b-nickel hydroxide (b-Ni(OH)2) electrode material with CuO has been prepared using a co-precipitation method. The structure and property of the modified b-Ni(OH)2 with CuO were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform infra-red (FT-IR), Raman and thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) techniques.

  • In the present work, triacylglycerol and fatty acid compositions of Impatiens balsamina L. and Impatiens walleriana Hook.f. seed oils were determined using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography with both refractive index and spectrophotometric detections. The presence of conjugated octadecatetraenoic moieties was confirmed by UV and IR spectroscopy. Triacylglycerol (TAG) compositions were performed using an incremental approach and confirmed by the results of MS and electronic spectra.

  • In this work, the encapsulation of [CdBr6]4- by six cations, [Co(dien)2]3+ has been described with the help of single crystal X-ray structural study in the complex, mer-[Co(dien)2]2[CdBr6]Br2. The complex anion, [CdBr6]4- has been obtained through solution method while attempting to synthesize complex dianion, [CdBr4]2-. This newly synthesized complex has been initially characterized by elemental analyses and spectroscopic studies (IR, NMR and UV-Visible).

  • In this work, the Raman and IR active vibrational modes of GaN structure were calculated using correlation method. All the experimental Raman peaks were assigned in the Raman spectra of GaN/AlxGa1-xN/AlN/Si structures, which were prepared using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique. The effect of AlxGa1-xN buffer layer with various of x values (0.011; 0.02; 0.037; 0.053; 0.49; 1) on the structure properties of GaN was studied by mean of Raman spectroscopy.

  • Sewage sludge is the promising raw material for biosorbent preparation. In this work, we evaluated the heavy metals adsorption characteristics of alkali treated sewage sludge (ATSS) by equilibrium studies. The adsorption isotherms were fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich models. Comparing with untreated sewage sludge, the total adsorption capacity (qm) of ATSS (prepared with 0.125 mol/L NaOH) for Cd, Pb, Ni, increase d by 0.51, 0.70 and 0.32 mmol/g, respectively. When the NaOH concentration for ATSS preparation increase d from 0.125 mol/L to 0.

  • The present work aims to study the in vitro properties of nano-hydroxyapatite/chitosan–gelatin composite materials. In vitro behavior was performed in simulated body fluid (SBF) to verify the formation of apatite layer onto the composite surfaces. The in vitro data proved the deposition of calcium and phosphorus ions onto hydroxyapatite /polymeric composite surfaces especially those containing high concentrations of polymer content.

  • This work aimed to study the effect of swimming exercise on serum vitamin D level and tissue vitamin D receptors in experimentally induced type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Sixty adult male rats were divided into control and diabetic groups. Each was further subdivided into sedentary and exercised subgroups. Diabetes Mellitus was induced by a single intraperitoneal dose of streptozotocin (50 mg/kg) dissolved in cold 0.01 M citrate buffer (pH 4.5). The exercised subgroups underwent swimming for 60 min, 5 times a week for 4 weeks.

  • Informational products are very easy to produce if you already have some knowledge on a subject that is considered valuable by others. Fortunately, given the huge diversity across the web, it’s hard to come up with an informational topic that is not of value to somebody. For example, if you want to write a report on how to save money on your taxes, and you’ve been working for the IRS for ten years, then it’s just a matter of organizing what you already know and laying it out into a report....

  • TIGTA’s audit work is concentrated on high-risk areas and the IRS’s progress in achieving its strategic goals. To identify FY 2012 high-risk areas for audit coverage, TIGTA uses a risk- assessment strategy within its core business areas. The Assistant Inspectors General for Audit advise the Deputy Inspector General for Audit on the major risks facing the IRS in their respective program areas and annually propose a national audit plan based on perceived risks, stakeholder concerns, and follow-up reviews of previously audited areas with significant control weaknesses.

  • Cordyceps gunnii (berk.) Berk (C. Gunnii) is well known as a Chinese rare caterpillar fungus and has similar pharmacological activity with C. sinensis. In this work, a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide (CPS) was isolated and purified from the mycelia of C. gunnii. The total sugar content of CPS was amounted to 92.84%. The result of HPLC indicated that CPS was a homogeneous polysaccharide. The estimated average molecular weight of CPS was 3.72 ×106 Da. The specific rotation of CPS was recorded [˛]25 D = +134.2◦.
