An experiment was conducted with 9 colocasia [Colocasia esculenta var. antiquorom Schott.] genotypes to evaluate the estimate of genetic variability for different characters. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The genetic parameters between yield and yield contributing characters of different colocasia genotypes were studied. Analysis of variance showed significant variation among the genotypes for all tested characters.

Heterosis phenomenon due to its enhanced expression for the manifestation of different characters in both (positive and negative) direction helps in a crop improvement, therefore heterosis breeding serves as an important tool in tomato (Fageria et al., 2001; Duhan et al., 2005; Thakur et al., 2004).

Correlation and path analysis was worked out among thirty chickpea genotypes with three replications under both rainfed and irrigated conditions utilising yield, drought tolerant traits and mechanical harvestable traits during rabi, 2018 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Biological yield per plot and harvest index exhibited significant positive correlation with seed yield and drought tolerance index. 100 seed weight and number of pods per plant also contributed positively to DTI and seed yield under rainfed conditions.
