The use of post-emergence herbicide needs to be advocated in lentil. There is a need to develop most effective and economical fertilizer management and weed control practices for obtaining higher yield as well as profitability. Keeping these facts in view, the present experiment was designed to determine the best suitable fertilizer and weed management technique for lentil crop.

Pulses, an important constituent of food grains, play a vital role in food and nutritional security of millions of down trodden people of the world. Being an important source of protein, poor people mostly depends on pulses for meeting their daily requirements of this essential nutrient. Pulses will form a major source of protein for a huge section of Indian particularly, for the poor, backward classes of the traditionally vegetarian population (Reddy, 2004).

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis was isolated from wilt infected lentil plant samples were collected from the field of AICRP on MULLaRP at Agriculture Research Station, Ummedganj, (Kota). In epidemiological studies, mycelium growth and sporulation by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis was significantly influenced with media, temperature and pH level. Maximum colony diameter (90.00 mm) recorded on oat meal agar (Hi-media) medium, which was statistically at par with potato dextrose agar (Hi-media) yielded 88.57 mm colony diameter, Both the media support excellently sporulation by pathogen.

Present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of thiourea application on the productivity of lentil in rain fed conditions of central India. The lentil crop was grown with different magnitudes of the thiourea. The results of the study revealed that, the applications of thiourea @ 500 ppm followed by thiourea @ 1000 ppm at pre flowering and pod initiation stages were significantly improved the growth and yield of lentil. The plant height (42.

To find out the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of lentil an experiment was conducted at High Mountain Arid Agriculture Research Institute, Leh (SKUAST-Kashmir) during Kharif season 2017. The experiment consists of one genotype of lentil Shalimar masoor-1 laid in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications and seven treatment levels. The plot size of 2×2m was used in this experiment. The results showed that combination of NPK+FYM recorded significantly higher biological yield than NPK used alone.

Lentil is one of the important legume crop widely grown in India. The availability of low phosphorous in soil is one the major concern for the production of legume crop in the country. Thus, the present study was aimed to evaluate the plant growth promoting efficiency of phosphate solubilizing Chryseobacterium sp. PSR 10 with different doses of inorganic fertilizers (N and P) on lentil growth and yield under field conditions. The phosphate solubilizing potential of this bacterial strain through In vitro tricalcium phosphate solubilization in NBRI-BPB broth medium was 210.43µgml-1 .

Twenty lentil genotypes were taken to study the dry matter production, partitioning, and yield, under three different dates of sowing (15 November, 6 December, and 27 December), data were recorded at various growth stages. A decrease in root dry matter in late sowings at pre-flowering and post-flowering was observed. Crop grown on the second sowing (late sown, 6 December) registered higher means for total dry weight and yield at 50 and 65 days after sowing

Cuscuta campestris is complete stem parasite and serious problem of lentil. It causes 87% yield loss. Manual removal of Cuscuta is labour intensive and cause high labour cost. Herbicides are the best option for the management of Cuscuta. In present study, impact of Pendimethalin, Quizalfop and Imazethapyr were observed on weed count of Cuscuta and yield attribute of Lentil. In both the year i.e. 2014-15 and 2015-16, Pendimethalin cause maximum reduction in weed count of Cuscuta, highest number of pod per plant and yield of lentil compared to Quizalfop ethyl and Imazethapyr.
