The results of the present investigation indicated that, different pruning treatments and fertilizer levels produced significant effect on growth and yield attributes of guava. The treatment of 45 cm of past season’s growth with application of fertilizer levels of 125% RDF (1000:500:500 g NPK/tree) recorded the significant effect on the growth parameter like plant height, shoot length, shoot diameter and number of leaves per shoot and produced maximum values of all these growth parameters with minimum days of flowering and fruit set. The maximum yield (60.41 kg/tree and 16.79 t/ha.

The study revealed that the guava + banana and guava + eggplant systems were proved to be the most significant intercropping system by improving physio-chemical properties like bulk density, water holding capacity, SOC, available NPK of the soil. The maximum system equivalent yield and economic return were obtained from the same system. Thus the guava + banana intercropping system is not only the best for restoring soil fertility but also obtaining the maximum economic return for guava growers of West Bengal.

An experiment was conducted in 12 year old planted guava (Psidium guajava L.) garden at Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) during the year 2014-15. The treatments comprised nine combinations of three ZnSO4 levels (0.50, 0.75, 1.00% solution) and three borax levels (0.2, 0.4, 0.6% solution) and one control of water spray. These 10 treatments were tested in factorial R.B.D. on guava.

An adequate boron amendment ensures not only ample fruit set, but guarantees optimum fruit yield with excellent quality in terms of juice content, ratio between total soluble solids and acidity, and fruit peel colour (Srivastava and Singh 2005). Very little information is available on effect of zinc and boron under agro-climatic conditions of Uttarakhand and no work so far has been done under tarai conditions with the cultivar Pant Prabhat. Therefore, it has become imperative to find out influence of zinc and boron on leaf nutrient status of guava.

The rainy crop is of inferior quality, infested with fruit flies and do not keep well, whereas the winter crop produces a better fruit quality, fetch a premium price and has a long shelf life. Hence rainy season crop is regulated to next winter season by pruning. Pruning at different timings have shown different effects on the growth, flowering and yield parameters of the crop. It‟s essential to standardize the pruning time in order to get crop with higher returns.

Guava is one of the important fruit crop cultivated all over India. A guava plant shows micronutrient deficiency which could be responsible for lesser yield and quality. Foliar feeding of nutrients to fruit plants has gained much importance in recent years which is quite economical and obviously an ideal way of evading the problems of micronutrients availability and supplementing the fertilizers to the soil. The present investigation was conducted at Horticultural College & Research Institute, Periyakulam during 2018-2019.

The experiment was laid out in factorial randomize block design with four levels of sulfur (0, 15, 30 and 45 kg ha-1 ) and four doses of lime (CaCO3) (0, 100, 250 and 350 kg ha-1 ). The results indicated that at P=0.05 significantly higher seed (285.75 and 286.08 kg ha-1 ) and stalk (359.84 and 358.
