  • A field experiment was conducted at research area of Department of Agricultural Meteorology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, during the kharif season of 2013-14. The main plots treatments consisted of four date of sowing (2 nd week of April, 4 th week of April, 2 nd week of May and 1st week of June) and the sub-plots consisted of three cotton varieties (HD 123, H 1098 and RASI 134). In the 2nd week of April sown crop consumed highest thermal and radiation indices, and efficiently converted the thermal/radiant energy into biomass production.

  • An experiment entitled “Effect of weather parameters on crop growth, development and yield of Kharif Cotton varieties under extended sowing times” was conducted during 2016-17 at Research farm AICRP, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani during Kharif season. The field experiment was lay out in a split plot design with three replications. There were thirty six treatment combinations comprising of four sowing times viz., 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th MW as main plot treatments and three varieties viz. Ajit155, Mallika and Rashi-2 (779) as sub plot treatments.

  • A field experiment was conducted during Kharif season of 2014-15 to evaluate the Effect of High Density Planting System (HDPS) and Genotypes on growth parameters and Yield contributing traits in upland cotton at Cotton Research Unit, Dr. P.D.K.V., Akola. The experiment was laid out in FRBD design consisting of four factors of plant densities viz., 45 x 10, 60 x10, 75 x 10 and 60 x 15 cm2 in main plots and three factors of cotton varieties i.e., AKH-081, NH-615 and Suraj in sub plots with replicated thrice.

  • Screening of sixteen cotton varieties/genotypes against jassid, Amrasca biguttula biguttula (Ishida) was carried out under rainfed conditions during kharif seasons of 2015-16 and 2016-17 at Regional Cotton Research Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Maktampur farm, Bharuch, Gujarat. The results revealed that none of the cotton variety/genotype was totally free from attack of A. biguttula biguttula and categorized as resistant based on population of jassid.
