Common scab caused by Streptomyces scabies (Thaxter) Waksman & Henrici is an important disease worldwide, and can cause significant reduction in the economic value of potato. The management of the disease can be done through conventional methods, biological chemical and cultivation of resistant variety. However, resistance against pathogen is not a permanent solution and fungicidal is not ecofriendly and economical. But new search, induce resistance has taken great attention for plant disease management in near future.

Potato is one of the most important and widely cultivated rabi crops of India. India ranks third in area and fourth in total potato production of the world. The increase in potato production in India has been very impressive by about 900 % during the last 50 years. Good productivity become under question due to poor moisture conservation and nutrient management practices.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal symbiosis has a significant impact on sustainable growth and development of various plants as they help to acclimatize with biotic and abiotic conditions. A study was conducted to determine the effects of various mycorrhizae based products at different concentrations on yield and quality of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cv. Kufri Sindhuri during Rabi 2016-17 at Vegetable research farm, Department of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU, Varanasi.

To view the effect of depth of planting on growth and yield parameters of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) crop, the experiments were conducted at Students Research Farm, Khalsa College Amritsar. The experiments were conducted at three different depths of planting as treatments viz., D1 (3”), D2 (5”) and D3 (7”) and each treatment was replicated three times. The data had been recorded at their respective stages of growth and total yield were measured at the end of the season of the potato crop. It was found that maximum number of stems per plant was 6.
