Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is an important edible oilseed crop in the country next to groundnut and soybean. One of the major factors for reduction in area of the crop is being attributed to the occurrence of fungal and viral diseases like sunflower necrosis disease (SND) and Sunflower leaf curl virus (SuLCV) resulting in yield loss in most of the sunflower growing regions of Southern and Northern India. In Karnataka, SuLCV has been reported to occur in almost all the popular sunflower hybrids grown during kharif, rabi and summer seasons with varied intensity.

Nineteen groundnut genotypes were screened for physiological characters, chlorophyll content and nitrate reductase activity at 30 DAS (pre-anthesis) and 60 DAS (post-anthesis) along with kernel yield during the Pre-summer. Leaf chlorophyll content and nitrate reductase activity plays a considerable role in plant metabolism.

Genetic variation and association among nine characters were studied in 34 advanced breeding lines of groundnut for WUE and yield related traits during summer 2015. Higher estimates of PCV and GCV were recorded for Pod Yield per plant followed by Kernel Yield per plant and Pods per plant indicating the presence of sufficient variability between advanced breeding lines.

The experiment was conducted during the Zaid season 2018 at Prayagraj to study the Sulphur and Plant Growth Regulators on Growth, Yield and Oil percentage of Summer Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). The experiment comprised of 2 factors and 13 treatments viz. Sulphur (30, 40, 50 kg ha-1 ) and Plant growth regulators (NAA 50 ppm (at 20 DAS alone & at 20, 40 DAS), GA3 30 ppm (at 20 DAS alone & at 20, 40 DAS)) and control. Sulphur and Plant growth regulators application significantly influenced the growth, yield attributing characters, yield and oil content over control.
