Yielding attributes of cluster bean

Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance were studied in 22 germplasms of Dolichos beans for yield attributing traits. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the genotypes for all the characters studied. For all the characters studied, phenotypic coefficients of variability were higher in magnitude than genotypic coefficients of variability, though difference was very less in majority of the cases.

Forty five cluster bean genotypes (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub) were evaluated to find out the correlation and path analysis for vegetable pod yield and yield attributes during kharif 2018 at College of Horticulture, Anantharajupeta, Andhra Pradesh. Character association of the yield attributing traits revealed that fresh pod yield per plant had highly significant and positive association with pod length, number of pods per plant, number of pods per cluster, number of pod clusters per plant and number of branches per plant at maturity.

The present investigation was carried out during kharif season 2014 to assess the effect of different levels of phosphorus and sulphur on growth, yield attributes and yield. The experiment comprising 16 treatment combinations replicated three times, with four levels of phosphorus (Control, 20, 40 and 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 ) and four levels of sulphur (0, 15, 30 and 45 kg S ha-1 ), respectively.

A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of sulphur levels on grain yield of clusterbean on the yield attributes of clusterbean in Hanumangarh District of Rajasthan. Through hierarchical clustering method, 27 genotypes were confined to VII clusters. Cluster I encompasses of three genotype accessions Basanti, TM-99-50, Sublobata-02 and it showed high cluster mean for plant height, days to maturity, number of pods plant-1 . Lower plant height was observed in genotypes under Cluster IV, clusters I and clusters V consisted of high plant height.

Twenty six genotypes of cluster bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub] were evaluated to estimate variability, broad sense heritability and genetic advance for pod yield and related attributes, during Rabi 2017. High estimates of GCV and PCV were recorded for number of branches per plant, plant spread at final harvest, fresh pod yield per plant, pod yield per plot, pod yield per hectare, number of pods per cluster, TSS and protein.

The experiment was conducted on 56 cluster bean genotypes to study the correlation among pod yield per plant components and their direct and indirect effects on pod yield per plant. This study helps in identifying the characters which mainly contributed towards pod yield. Plant height, number of clusters per plant, average weight of 50 pods, pod length, pod girth and 100 seed weight had positive association with pod yield per plant at phenotypic and genotypic levels.
