To compare the clinical efficacy of a femoral neck system (FNS) and cannulated screws (CS) in the treatment of femoral neck fracture in young adults. Both treatment methods resulted in higher rates of fracture healing and excellent hip function. Compared with CS, the FNS reduced the number of intraoperative fluoroscopies, radiation exposure to medical staff and patients, and short-term complications including femoral neck shortening and bone nonunion.

PRACHAR’s goal is to improve the health of mothers and their children by changing the customs of early marriage and childbearing and spacing subsequent births. To reach this objective, Pathfinder works with every section of society that influences the decisions of young people. Pathfinder has trained staff of 30 local partner organizations, who in turn have trained 342 community members to work as change agents, the key village-level representatives of the PRACHAR project. The project was launched in each village with a community meeting.

Funny turns and chest pain – funny turns are an unusual presentation for cardiac disease in children, much more commonly associated with simple faints, or neurological disease such as epilepsy. Sudden collapse may be due to arrhythmias, and collapse with exercise is a very worrying sign in a child with significant left ventricular outflow tract obstruction such as aortic stenosis. Most chest pain in children is due to musculoskeletal problems, especially in older children. Coronary artery abnormalities, and hence chest pain due to angina, is rare.

Hospitals, health care systems, and health care providers are also affected by a mass trauma. The number of people who need immediate physical and psychological help may be too much for health systems to handle. Some patients may not ind help when they need it because hospitals do not have enough staff or supplies. In some cases, health care providers themselves may be struggling to recover as well. NIMH scientists are working on this problem. For example, research­ ers are testing how to give CBT and other treatments using the phone and the Internet.

Genetic improvement of fish species is considered a priority area for research and development by the government of Viet Nam, particularly in the context of rural development, food security and poverty alleviation.
