The critical role played by entrepreneurship in driving economic development and job creation is increasingly understood. But even now, in the emerging “New Economy”, its potential is often not fully recognised and supported by policymakers. In terms of social cohesion, too, entrepreneurship can play an important role, allowing some of those people otherwise marginalised from the labour market to create their own opportunities to participate in economic life.

Two of those municipalities were identified on the basis of employing youth participation officers, while the third was volunteered to participate in the study by the Mayor of the day who claimed that " their Council was streets ahead " of other local governments in their response to the issues of young people from within their municipality.

In the present study, a total 124 participants were judged for their knowledge gain after training on Mushroom Production Technologies. The training programme on Mushroom Production technologies were arranged for rural youth, farmers and farm women of district Barnala, Punjab. Maximum knowledge gain (86.29 %) was observed in Button mushroom compost production technologies followed by 81.45 per cent knowledge gain in learning about the commercial varieties of mushrooms popular in northern India.

The study was aimed to analyze the constraints encountered by rural youth regarding participation in Agricultural activities. The present study was conducted in selected Patan block of Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh state. Patan block comprises of 227 villages. A list of rural youth was prepared with the help of RAEOs. Out of which six villages selected i.e. Benikheda, Kheri, Khamod, Udana, Murei and Ganyari based on maximum participation of youth in agricultural activities. From each village 20 respondents were randomly selected thus, making a total sample size of 120.

The study aims at identifying the potential role of Indian farmwomen in fruit based production system along with realising their constraints which limits their considerable contribution in terms of technology application, use of agri-inputs and commercial marketing. The magnitude of their participation is hardly visualized, which creates perceptible gender gap. A study was conducted in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur to assess the problems faced by the trainees in utilizing knowledge gained in training programme. The respondents were purposively selected from the three training programmes conducted by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur, one each on dairy, goatery and poultry farming. As per the guidelines in every training programme under the KVK a minimum of 25 trainees consisting of farmer, farm women or rural youth should participate.
