A novel polycaprolactonee zeolite nanocomposite Y (PCL - Zeol) scaffold was fabricated as a carrier for sustained release of cisplatin (Cis) for bone cancer treatment. Whatman cellulosic filter paper was used as a substrate for the synthesis of two zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs); ZIF-8 and ZIF-67 with and without 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidine oxoammonium salt (TEMPO)- oxidized cellulose nanofibril (TOCNF). All synthesis procedures take place at room temperature via a one-pot procedure.

Hierarchical zeolites containing ruthenium oxide nanoparticles were applied in the reaction of dihydroxyacetone isomerization to alkyl lactates and lactic acid. The synthesis of these materials was performed by dispersing the specified amount of two microporous zeolites (HFAU and NaBEA) withan ultrasound bath for 30 min, in a mixture containing cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, water, ethanol and ammonia.

Mechanochemical activation and steam-assisted interzeolite transformation offer a simple, fast and cost-efficient synthesis route to gmelinite (GME) zeolite. The use of faujasite (FAU) as the parent zeolite precursor facilitates the reaction and results in high yields of high-quality GME in less than 20 h under optimized conditions. The accessible porosity and amounts of stacking-faults were determined by N2 physisorption and XRD analysis, respectively.

Zeolite Cs-ABW nanocatalyst has been hydrothermally synthesized without using any harmful organic template. The zeolite nanocrystal with very high solid yield (81.88%) can be obtained within 60 min and at 180°C (~20 atm), conditions that are much faster and gentler than the existing synthesis methods. The orthorhombic Cs-ABW nanocrystals (mean size of 32 nm) have high aluminum content (Si/Al ratio = 1.14) and possess high basicity.

One-step facile synthesis of boron containing ZSM-5 microspheres is developed using 1,6-diaminohexane as the structure-directing agent and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as the mesoporogen. High boron incorporation up to Si/B ratio of 38 is achieved and evidenced by the stretching vibrations of B–O–Si at 667cm−1 and 917cm−1 using Fourier-transform infrared spectra. The morphology of the crystals resembles berry-like spheres with sizes approximately 15 µm, which is composed of aggregated nanocrystals having sizes around 450 nm, is observed using scanning electron microscopy.

In this study, zeolite-activated carbon composite (Z/AC) was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction using kaolin as a source of silica and alumina. The synthesized materials were characterized by Brunner-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area to calculate surface area, X-ray diffraction (XRD) to study the crystal structure of materials, Infrared spectroscopy (IR) to indicate the presence of functional groups on the surface and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to determine the morphology of the composites.

The semiconductor industry needs low dielectric constant (low k-value) materials to more advance microprocessor and chips by reducing the size of the device features. In fabricate this context, a new material with lower k value than conventional silica ( k = 3.9 - 4.2 ) is needed in order to improve the circuit performance. As per the recent International Semiconductor Technology plan, a low-k material with a k = 1.6 will be needed by 2010. The choice of the inorganic zeolite membrane is an attractive option for low k material and suitable for microprocess applicatio.

The precursor PVP-capped α-NaYF4 :Yb3+/Er3+ nanospheres were used as the templates for preparing the α-NaYF4 :Yb3+/Er3+/PVP/MOFs multilayer nanocrystals with a self-template method. By using iron (III) carboxylate and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks dissolved in dimethylformamide (DMF) solution containing 25% of diethylene glycol (DEG), the sphericalshaped α-NaYF4 :Yb3+/Er3+/PVP/MIL-100 and α-NaYF4:Yb3+/Er3+/PVP/ ZIF-8 multilayer nanocrystals were successfully prepared with the sizes of 300-500 nm at 100o C for one hour.

ZSM-5 zeolites are widely used as catalysts in the oil refi ning and petrochemical industry due to their outstanding catalytic performance. Despite their undisputed applications, the relative small pore size of ZSM-5 zeolites often imposes intra-crystalline diff usion limitations for reactant molecules, provoking the lower catalyst utilisation. To alleviate such limitations, in this work, an additional network of mesopores has been introduced by the post-synthesis modifi cation.
