In this study, we present an innovation method to synthesize ZnO nanoparticles colloidal solution by Zn2+ precipitation, and using COS and COS-I2 as a stabilizer agent to replace high molecular weight chitosan in previous studies. [17,18,24] It was favorable due to COS with small Mw did not precipitate at alkaline pH. Thus, ZnO/COS and ZnO/COS-I2 composite nanomaterials were prepared in this work will be oriented to use as antimicrobial agrochemicals, and post-harvest preservation.

Ebook "Gold(I,III) complexes designed for selective targeting and inhibition of Zinc finger proteins" explores gold(I)-phosphine, gold(III) complexes with N^N and C^N donors as inhibitors of the HIV-1 nucleocapsid protein (NCp7), in comparison to the human transcription factor Sp1. To determine the coordination sphere of the gold adducts formed by interaction with ZnFs, two innovative approaches are used, based on Travelling-Wave Ion Mobility coupled with Mass Spectrometry (TWIM-MS), and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy.

Comparative assessment of antibacterial and antifungal activities of metallic ion based formulations
The present study aims to investigate the potential of the new formulations including silver (I) nanoparticles as well as copper (II) and zinc (II) chelates in their separated and complex forms in the treatment of infectious diseases. The capacity of metallic ion based systems to suppress the development of microorganism often seen on wounds, such as Gram-negative bacteria (Klebsiella pneumonia ATCC 700603, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853), Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213), and fungi (Candida albicans ATCC 10231) were evaluated by microdilution assay.

The synthesized complexes have also been explored for forensic applications as fingerprint developing dyes. Apart from the excellent photoluminescent properties and forensic applications of the synthesized compounds, the scope of the work includes mild reaction conditions and better yield with easy of one pot synthesis by using readily available salicylaldehydes/2-hydroxy-1-napthaldehyde, cylohexyl-1,2-diamine and zinc acetate.

Grain zinc and iron concentration is a complex trait that is controlled by quantitative trait loci (QTL) and is important for maintaining body health. Despite the substantial effort that has been put into identifying QTL for grain zinc and iron concentration, the integration of independent QTL is useful for understanding the genetic foundation of traits.

The photo-physicochemical properties of these phthalocyanines were investigated in both DMSO and DMF for 10 and in both DMSO and aqueous solution for 11. The addition of pyridine bearing Schiff base groups as peripheral ligands showed an improvement in the photophysical and photochemical properties. In addition, a spectroscopic investigation of the binding behavior of the water-soluble zinc (II) phthalocyanine complex to bovine serum albumin (BSA) was also studied in this work.

The preconcentration of metal ions present at low concentration levels in aqueous systems and the selective removal of potentially toxic metals are important applications of adsorption processes. In this study, a heptadentate dinucleating ligand was anchored to chitosan for use in adsorption studies on Zn(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions.

The synthesis of metal-organic frameworks has attracted considerable interest due to their potential applications as functional materials in catalysis; 1,2 gas sorption, storage, and separation; 3,4 molecular magnetism5 and recognition; 6 and nonlinear optics. 7 While the synthesis of fascinating self-assembly metal-organic coordination polymers occurs via bridging ligand and also through weak noncovalent interactions, such as π − π stacking or hydrogen bonding, 8−20 the construction of metal-organic compounds mainly depends on the nature of the organic ligands and metal ions.

The synthesis of a 4-(2,2-diphenylethoxy)phthalonitrile (1) and its organosoluble free base (2), zinc(II) (3), nickel(II) (4), and cobalt(II) (5) phthalocyanine derivatives is presented in this work. The novel complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and spectral data such as infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet visible, and mass data. General tendencies were described for photophysics (fluorescence) and photochemistry (photodegradation and singlet oxygen quantum yields) of the free base and zinc(II) phthalocyanine derivatives in dimethylformamide.

The synthesis of novel zinc, cobalt, indium, and metal-free phthalocyanines carrying four 3-(4-phenyloxy)coumarins in the periphery/nonperiphery were prepared by cyclotetramerization of 3-[4-(3,4-dicyanophenyloxy)phenyl]coumarin (2)/3-[4-(2,3- dicyanophenyloxy)phenyl]coumarin (3). The novel chromogenic compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, 1 H NMR, mass spectra, F-IR, and UV-vis spectral data. The effects of the coumarin units on the zinc, indium, and metal-free phthalocyanine complexes (2a/3a, 2c/3c, 2d/3d) were also investigated.

The combination of potentiometric methods with multivariate calibration techniques allows complex mixtures to be analyzed. In this study, a new method was developed and reported for simultaneous determination of copper(II) and zinc(II) cations in a mixture by titrimetric methods. The developed method permits simultaneous cation analysis with low detection limits, just by using a pH electrode. This work has achieved the challenging goal of developing a cost-effective and applicable method that can be applied in most laboratories due to independence of any chemical instruments.

New nonperipherally and peripherally tetrasubstituted zinc(II) phthalocyanine complexes containing 1- benzylpiperidin-4-ol groups and their quaternized derivatives are reported in this work. These complexes were characterized successfully and their photophysical and photochemical properties were studied. These properties were determined in dimethylsulfoxide for all studied complexes and in water and water + Triton X-100 solutions for ionic Zn(II) phthalocyanines.

We prepared novel unsymmetrical A3B-type zinc and cobalt phthalocyanines bearing monocarboxylic acid groups on peripheral positions using statistical condensation method, especially designed to anchor on the TiO2 semiconductor surface. The novel complexes were anchored on TiO2 semiconductor to prepare effective dye sensitized photoactive composites as heterogeneous catalysts. The results indicated that modified TiO2 nanocrystals possessed only the anatase phase and MPc-TiO2 photocatalysts with loading amount of dye ca. 8.27 µmol/g TiO2 exhibit strong visible light absorption.
