The major problem in peri urban areas is the poor quality of irrigation water since the waste from all sources is disposed in the rivers and other water bodies. This result in accumulation of heavy metals like Zinc Sulphate (ZnSO4), Cadmium Sulphate (CdSO4) and Copper Sulphate (CuSO4) in the water source has adverse effect on seed germination, Plant growth, and human health.

A 60-day feeding trail was conducted to determine the effect of dietary zinc level and temperature on growth and antioxidant enzyme in Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. The six distinct treatment groups were fed with diets prepared with different zinc levels (16, 32 and 48 mg/kg respectively) in two temperature like 34˚C and ambient temperature. After 60 days experimental trial, the growth parameters like percent weight gain, FCR, PER, SGR and enzymes Superoxide Dismutase–I and Catalase were studied.

To investigate the changes in the haematological, serum biochemical parameters and hepato-renal biomarkers upon dietary supplementation of nano zinc oxide (nZnO) and its effect on growth performance in calves, 24 weaned (6 months age) crossbred calves were randomly distributed to four dietary plans (Control, Treatment1, Treatment2 and Treatment3). The Control(C) group was fed exclusively with basal diet; T1 was supplemented with 25ppm ZnSo4, T2 and T3 with 5ppm and 10ppm nZnO respectively, along with the basal diet. Zinc content in basal was 26.24ppm.
