  • In this present study, different Rhizobial and Pseudomonas strains from different locations were collected and evaluated for their potential PGP activity. Among ten Rhizobial cultures GNR1 recorded the highest P solubilization zone (24.3 mm) conversely, P solubilization is highest in Pseudomonas isolates. Five cultures of Rhizobia and six cultures of Pseudomonas were able to solubilize potassium. The solubilisation zone is ranging from a maximum of 11.6 to a minimum of 8.3 mm.

  • Phytase activity of bacteria, yeasts and moulds isolated from different ecosystems have been identified and studied by several researchers. The present study focused on isolation and identification of phytate solubilizing yeasts associated with freshly soaked cereals, pulses, condiments and oilseeds. Isolation on MRS-Calcium phytate at pH 6.2 ±0.2 resulted in a high diversity of microorganisms developing clear zones of phytate hydrolysis. Microscopic study revealed identification of three groups of phytate solubilizing organisms (viz.

  • Soil is the habitat of one of the most complex of natural biological coin munities in which all the phenomena associated with the struggle for survival occur. This competition is greatly intensifies in the root zone of plants, the rhizosphere, owing to the greater density of its micro population. The Experiment was carried out in the in laboratory of Department of Environmental Science, SHUATS, Allahabad to study the effect of Modern agricultural practices on soil microbial properties of Chaka block of Allahabad district” U.P., INDIA in 2016.

  • Study was conducted to isolate and analyse the plant growth promotional activity of Bacillus strains isolated from Doni river belt of Vijayapura district. Total of 30 isolates were obtained from 15 rhizosphere soil samples. Further all the isolates were subjected for P-solubilization efficiency. All the 30 isolates showed zone of solubilization on Pikovskaya’s media.

  • Rhizosphere of a groundnut plant (Arachis hypogea) from agricultural fields of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh (India) was explored for isolation of PGPR. A total of 6 isolates from the rhizosphere belonging to different species were isolated. All the isolates showed phosphate solubilization, out of these an isolate coded as Psm6 showed most prominent halo zone was tested in vivo for growth promotion of Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) under field conditions.

  • An experiment was conducted during of rabi 2014-15 and 2015-16 at Soil Conservation and Water Management farm of the C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur to find out the response of row spacing, bio-fertilizer and nitrogen levels on yield attributes i.e. number of pods /plant, number of seeds/pod 1000-seed weight, protein content in (% & kg/ha), nodules/plant and fresh & dry weight (mg) of nodules/plant of chickpea crop.

  • The use of phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) as biofertilizers has concurrently increased phosphate uptake in plants and improved crop yield in several crops. A laboratory study was conducted to isolate, identify, and characterize the phosphate solubilizing bacteria from different crop soils. The population of PSB was higher in the rhizosphere soil of maize. Preliminary selections as PSB were done on the basis of formation of transparent zone around the colony on Pikovaskaya’s agar medium. The isolated PSB were identified by their morphological and biochemical properties.

  • In our present study, we have isolated zinc solubilizing bacteria from rhizospheric soils of rice growing area surrounding Raichur and Koppal districts of Karnataka, India. Around 40 zinc solubilizing bacteria were isolated using TRIS-minimal agar medium (TMA) supplemented with 0.1 % ZnO. All the isolates were named after zinc solubilization such as MZSB-1 to MZSB-40 respectively.

  • Zinc (Zn) is one of the most essential micronutrients required for normal plant growth and development. Even though considerable quantity of inorganic Zn is applied in soil but significant quantity of it gets converted into unavailable forms. Zn solubilising microorganisms are the potential substitute for Zn supplement to plant from soil. Among the four isolates that were screened for Zn solubilization, fungal ones performed better than bacterial ones and Aspergillus sp. in particular, outperformed every other isolate in the test. It produced a clear halo zone of 22.

  • Plants acquire phosphorus from soil solution as phosphate anion. It is the least mobile element in plant and soil contrary to other macronutrients. In the present study phosphate solubilizing bacteria were isolated from rhizosphere of four different crops on Pikovskaya’s agar medium. The potential isolate was selected on the basis of reduction in pH of media and formation of halo zone. Its biochemical study was conducted which conclude that the isolate belong to Bacillus sp.
