Zooplankton densities

The zooplankton density and diversity along with important physico-chemical parameters were studied on forth nightly basis from August, 2016 to March, 2017 in Nanak Sagar reservoir, Uttarakhand. Three sampling sites i.e. (A1, A2 & A3) were selected for regular sampling of zooplankton and water.

The present investigation was carried out to assess the distribution of zooplankton in seagrass ecosystem in comparison with that of the coastal waters without seagrasses in Gulf of Mannar. Water and plankton samples were collected from the seagrass ecosystem (Station 1) and the control station without seagrasses (station 2) from September 2016 to May 2017. The physico chemical parameters were analysed and the mean values of surface water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, silicate, gross primary productivity and chlorophyll-a were 27.72⁰ C, 34.

Phytoplankton and zooplankton densities in Hirfanli Dam Lake were studied between July 1999 and June 2000. In addition, phytoplankton biomass was measured using chlorophyll a concentration. The density of Cladocera at the surface and that of Rotifera at the bottom were low in the summer months. For phytoplankton, Cyclostephanos dubius (Fricke) Round was dominant.
